The Senior Data Analyst leads report development projects, designs complex SQL queries and databases, creates interactive dashboards and administers reporting environments like Tableau and SSRS.  They collaborate across teams to deliver data-driven solutions, act as a liaison for reporting needs and educate colleagues on best practices in data analysis and visualization tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for the following:
    • Lead and manage projects focused on report design and development.
    • Design, develop, and optimize reports, including troubleshooting and modification as needed.
    • Create complex SQL queries and design efficient database structures for reporting data storage and retrieval.
    • Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate analytical findings to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate across departments to design and implement data-driven solutions addressing stakeholder challenges.
    • Serve as liaison between Full Sail and sister schools (LAFS & RMCAD) to provide support with their reporting needs.
    • Administer and maintain Tableau environment.
    • Administer and maintain SSRS environment
    • Provide education and guidance on best practices for T-SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, and SSRS
    • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout all reporting processes
    • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analysis and visualizations

Other Responsibilities:

  • Senior Data Analyst will act as IMT’s Tableau and SSRS dedicated administrator with responsibilities including
    • Managing security infrastructure ensuring data is accessible only on an as needed basis.
    • Upgrading Tableau production & test environment to address vulnerabilities and security best practices.
    • Performance tuning of stored procedures, views and T-SQL statements as pertains to Full Sail reporting needs.
  • Senior Data Analyst may also be called upon to assist with projects within Full Sail’s AWS cloud environment. Services utilized include but are not limited to the following:
    • DMS
    • S3
    • IAM
    • RDS
    • Glue
    • Athena

  • Tableau: Report Creation, Dashboard, Optimization, Administration
  • Tableau Prep Builder
  • PowerBI: Report Creation, Optimization
  • SQL Server Reporting Services: Security, Administration, Report Creation
  • SQL Server 2016-2019: T-SQL, Performance optimization, best practices
  • JIRA
  • Project Management
  • Strong client communication skills
  • AWS: Athena, RDS, EC2
  • Documentation

Education and/or Experience:

  • 5-7 years working with a variety of reporting technologies such as Tableau and SSRS

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  

  • None required but any certification pertaining to Tableau or SSRS data/report development is a plus.

Computer/Equipment Skills:

  • Windows PC will be provided by Full Sail University

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in hybrid work environment hybrid (working from home and/or from the office). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds
