Position: Senior Data Analyst
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Provide recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develop business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translate business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy and develops domain specific artifact. Serve as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results. Identify and recommend relevant business insights pertaining to assigned area of work. Develop business models for financial payback. Identify the most suitable source for data. Maintain awareness of data quality. Identify possible options to address the business problems within one's discipline through relevant analytical methodologies. Demonstrate understanding of use cases and desired outcomes. Promote data quality awareness. Profile, analyze, and assess data quality. Test and validate data quality requirements. Execute operational Data Quality Management procedures. Conduct data cleansing activities to remove data quality defects, improve data quality, and eliminate unused data under supervision of others. Grant user access to data. Generate appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Understand customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets. Present to and influence the team and business audience using the appropriate data visualization frameworks and conveys clear messages through business and stakeholder understanding. Customize communication style based on stakeholder under guidance and leverage rational arguments. Collect and tabulate data and evaluate results to determine accuracy, validity, and applicability. Support the identification and application of statistical techniques based on requirements. Apply suitable technique under direction from leadership. Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of an exploratory data analysis research projects. Understand existing statistical models and identify and recommend statistical models based on hypothesis. Use advanced knowledge in Data Discovery tools to write queries and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, outliers, and correlations. Conduct statistical analysis (for example hypothesis tests, confidence intervals) and build basic statistical models using relevant packages and software suites. Develop, execute, and improve action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices. Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs. Build commitment for perspectives and rationales.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Finance, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Finance, or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Skills Required: Experience with report visualization using Tableau and Power BI tools. Experience querying at least one of the following: Relational Database Management Systems: DB2, MYSQL, or JDBC. Experience with experimental test design using DMAIC. Experience conducting root cause analysis using SQL, Microsoft (MS) Excel, and Tableau. Experience with financial modelling and estimation using Microsoft (MS) Excel. Experience with data pipelines using Google BigQuery Scheduler. Experience with technical process documentation using Confluence. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $168,154/year to $202,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
