What we're looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced analytical skills, a deep understanding of SQL, and a knack for deriving valuable insights from complex datasets. Additionally, they should have foundational knowledge of engineering principles, including Git and scripting, and experience with tools like dbt and Snowflake.


Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights:

Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights.

Identify and propose new metrics and data-driven insights to add value to the company and our customers.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).


SQL & Query Optimization:

Write advanced SQL queries to manipulate and analyze data.

Ensure queries are optimized for performance and scalability.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with stakeholders across various departments to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.

Walk through complex topics with non-technical stakeholders


Team

Mentor more junior data analysts

Ability to see the big picture and align the strategy to business goals


Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a data analyst or related role.

Proven experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.

Previous experience with dbt and Snowflake is highly desirable.

Excellent written and spoken English


Technical Skills:

Mastery of SQL for data analysis and query optimization.

Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

Experience with data warehousing solutions.

Basic engineering skills, including Git and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) are a plus.


Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.


Our Technology Stack

We process billions of events every day. Our data team relies heavily on Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran to provide an easy-to-use platform for querying and graphing events. We’re in the process of choosing our BI tool to replace the legacy stack (Cluvio/Redash), we would love to hear what you recommend and why!

Our pipelines are orchestrated via Airflow, and our code and CI are managed in Gitlab.

We rely on automated testing (unit, integration, linters, etc.) and continuous integration/delivery to build flexible applications that evolve without breaking. This approach allows engineers to focus on code quality and iterate quickly. When we encounter issues, we fix them and learn from our experiences.

A technical interview with the engineering manager of the data team

Team Interview: SQL whiteboarding session, discussion on modeling, design and data management with a few members of the team

A series of 1:1 with the team
