Kalman & Company is seeking a highly motivated, performance-driven individual with strong cost analysis experience to work closely with our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clients. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills and the ability to principally contribute to several of the largest and most significant studies in Kalman's portfolio. This position will require on-site work in Arlington, VA. The salary range is $120K/yr-$135K/year. This position is tied to a government proposal.

As a Kalman Analyst, you will work with military leaders, engineers, developers, technicians, logisticians, and financial managers to collect, analyze, and communicate information that will help ensure the success of programs that are critical to the United States Department of Defense and our allies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Senior Data Analyst applies extensive knowledge and experience to obtain, integrate, and report programmatic and investment related data and develop and apply analytic methodologies and principles; lead the application of analytic techniques and help define project objectives and strategic direction; resolve complex problems which require an in-depth knowledge of analytic methodologies and principles; analyze acquisition and investment data, formulate conclusions and recommendations, design and develop materials, and evaluate effectiveness in accordance with stated guidelines, speculations, and models; conduct research, data gathering, and technical reviews; produce written deliverables to include reports, spreadsheets, databases, formal process mapping, technical design, system testing and implementation activities; troubleshoot issues in reports related to data; assimilate, integrate, and interface technical knowledge with business/system requirements; utilizes scripting and querying tools like Python, R, or SQL, data visualization/BI tools, statistical methods, and data modeling to produce reports, data files, and dashboards.

  • Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge of industry data standards and processes across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plan and lead major technology assignments related to data collection, storage, and use of quality data in support of the objectives.
  • Identify critical cost, budget, and capability trends of investments through use of relational data analysis.
  • Interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently.
  • Design, develop, and implement business solutions that support optimized investment decisions.
  • Prepare data, implement data models, and develop databases to support the business solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • An Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a government issued clearance.
  • At least 7 years of experience in support of government acquisition and knowledge of requirements to collect, store, organize, and assess data related to acquisition programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Demonstrated capability to work both independently and under the direction of experienced analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Possession of a government or industry standard data science certification.

Skills Required

  • US Citizenship is required.
