The Senior Data Analyst will be an integral part of the Analytics and Research department, contributing to the understanding of our web site, apps, and digital publication's performance, trends, and user experience. The Analyst will collaborate closely with the Product team to execute A/B tests, ensuring precise tagging and tracking for comprehensive reporting. This effort aims to provide valuable insights that contribute to informed decisions regarding product development and user experience. The Analyst will work closely with Product stakeholders to capture reporting requirements and to understand necessary data sources and data structure The Analyst will be responsible for turning raw data into actionable insights in the form of automated reporting and visualizations, while also being able to effectively communicate the insights to stakeholders in the form of presentations or report usage trainings. Additionally, this role will assist in ensuring accurate tagging and tracking parameters are captured as needed for reporting related to product insights, other than A/B tests. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of big data and data warehousing, with prior knowledge and advanced use of SQL to develop and automate reporting. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, leveraging your coding skills and analytical mindset to drive meaningful insights and impact our business strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the digital media industry and develops a deep understanding of the AJC's digital content offerings and performance.
  • Manages and executes entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish, including Data gathering, Synthesis and modeling, Problem solving, Communication of insights and recommendations.
  • Works with complex datasets across multiple systems and departments and understands how to model and manipulate the data into insights.
  • Works cross-functionally with stakeholders to capture reporting requirements and provide insight into areas of the business as it relates to different products (Website, ePaper, App, Newsletters, Video, Podcast, etc.)
  • Works cross-department with a team of data engineers and data scientists to discover and land new data, and to address questions about the business with predictive modeling.
  • Maintains clear and consistent communication with internal clients and teams. Collaborates effectively to meet analytics objectives.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards and reports that communicate KPIs and trends.
  • Collaborates with Product team to design A/B tests ensuring proper tagging/tracking is in place and maintains reporting of testing key results.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a data analysis or related role. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with Google analytics data to deliver clickstream and digital product insights.
  • Thorough understanding of the configuration and ability to debug Google tags, events, and parameters necessary for developing insights from raw Google data.
  • Strong SQL programming skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cloud computing and data storage tools, preferably AWS S3, Redshift, GCP, Big Query, Snowflake
  • Demonstrated ability to build an automated dashboard from developing raw data to presenting insights, preferably Power BI, Tableau for reporting.
  • Experience with A/B test and the ability to effectively work cross-functionally to ensure proper tagging/tracking.
  • Aptitude for identifying and solving data landing/loading errors, ensuring data integrity.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with product teams and developers.

USD 85,500.00 - 128,300.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $85,500.00 - $128,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
