The Senior Data Analyst, People Insights is an individual‑contributor role responsible for advanced analytical execution in support of People Insights & Advisory Services. This role focuses on mining, analyzing, and visualizing complex HR and workforce data to surface insights that inform advisory work led by the People Insights & Advisory Services team.
This role plays a critical part in identifying patterns, relationships, and repeatable analytical components across complex people data, applying strong analytical judgment and technical rigor to exploratory and hypothesis‑driven work. The Senior Data Analyst produces high‑quality analytical outputs—including analyses and visualizations—that enable the broader team to translate insights into action and, where appropriate, transition repeatable work into scalable decision products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous, hypothesis-driven analysis of complex workforce, talent, and organizational questions using appropriate statistical and research methods.
- Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches, testable hypotheses, and clearly defined data requirements.
- Use Python, R, SQL, or comparable analytical tools to prepare, integrate, analyze, and validate complex datasets.
- Apply descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, segmentation, group comparisons, and trend analysis to identify meaningful patterns and drivers.
- Develop clear, accurate, and decision-relevant analytical outputs, including visualizations, dashboards, and exploratory analyses, using tools such as Python, R, Power BI, or other appropriate analytical platforms.
- Interpret analytical findings within the broader business and organizational context, clearly communicating implications, limitations, and recommended next steps to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Apply machine learning and other advanced analytical techniques when appropriate, while exercising sound judgment about when traditional statistical methods provide a more suitable or interpretable solution.
- Leverage generative AI, AI-assisted coding tools, or similar technologies responsibly to improve analytical efficiency, support data analysis, and accelerate insight generation.
- Develop lightweight prototypes, interactive analytical applications, and decision-support tools using AI-assisted development platforms to enhance insight delivery and stakeholder self-service.
- Identify repeatable analytical patterns, methods, visualizations, or components that can be standardized, automated, or transitioned into scalable decision products in collaboration with data science and product teams.
- Ensure analytical work meets applicable standards for data quality, documentation, privacy, reproducibility, and ethical use of employee data.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-5 years experience applying advanced statistical analysis, research methods, machine learning, and data-driven problem solving to complex business and/or workforce questions.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong hands-on coding experience using Python, R, SQL, or comparable analytical tools to prepare, analyze, validate, and interpret complex data.
- Demonstrated experience applying statistical analysis and research methods, such as hypothesis testing, regression or related modeling techniques, segmentation, group comparisons, and trend analysis.
- Experience using Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform to create clear, accurate, and actionable data visualizations, dashboards, or analytical views.
- Proven ability to independently work through ambiguous analytical questions, assess data and methodological limitations, and select appropriate analytical approaches.
- Ability to translate complex analyses into clear, concise, and business-relevant findings for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to connect analytical findings to broader workforce, talent, or business considerations.
