We are building a cloud-native data platform that ingests, governs, and serves data to teams across the company. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who can turn that data into clear, trustworthy answers — and document it well enough that others can reuse the work. You will sit close to the platform and its consumers, analyzing data to drive decisions while writing the queries, definitions, and guides that make the platform easier for everyone to use.
This role blends deep analytical work with strong technical writing. You will not only produce analysis, you will document data sources, metrics, and how-to guidance so that self-service actually works. We move fast and use AI as a normal part of the job, so we want someone who reaches for those tools to raise the quality and speed of their work.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do
- Deliver analysis that drives decisions — scope questions with stakeholders, pull and model data from the platform, and turn it into clear findings and recommendations.
- Be the go-to expert on the platform's data — develop deep knowledge of the data model, the data it holds, and the platform's capabilities, and answer questions from consumers about what data exists, what it means, and how to use it.
- Own metrics and definitions — define, validate, and maintain the key metrics teams rely on, and keep them consistent across the platform.
- Write technical documentation — document data sources, schemas, metric definitions, and query patterns so consumers can find and trust the data without a meeting.
- Enable self-service — build reusable queries, dashboards, and how-to guides that let other teams answer their own questions.
- Safeguard data quality — profile new and existing sources, flag anomalies, and partner with data engineering to resolve issues at the source.
- Be a bridge to the platform — translate consumer needs into feedback for the platform team, and help onboard teams onto new data as it lands.
- Work AI-forward — use AI tools as a default part of how you analyze, draft SQL, summarize findings, and produce documentation — and share what works with the team.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role delivering analysis that shaped real decisions.
- Strong SQL — you can independently query, join, and model data in a cloud warehouse; comfort with a scripting language such as Python is a plus.
- Data platform fluency — hands-on understanding of modern cloud data architectures, data pipelines, and schemas; able to trace data from source to consumption, identify data issues, and partner effectively on technical solutions.
- Technical writing skills — you write clear, well-organized documentation — data dictionaries, metric definitions, runbooks, and how-to guides — that non-experts can follow.
- Rigor and clarity — you validate your numbers, explain your assumptions, and communicate findings simply to technical and non-technical audiences.
- AI-forward mindset — you actively use AI tools to do your best work and raise your leverage, and you stay current as the tooling evolves.
- US-based — authorized to work in the United States; this role is open to US-based candidates.
Nice to Have
- Real estate / proptech experience — familiarity with property, leasing, or real estate data is desired but not required.
- Experience standing up or maintaining a data catalog, data dictionary, or metrics layer.
- Experience supporting internal consumers of a shared data platform.
- Familiarity with dbt, version control, or documentation-as-code workflows.
How We'll Measure Success
Analysis that stakeholders act on, delivered accurately and on time.
A well-documented, trusted set of metrics and data sources that others reuse.
Growth in self-service — teams answering their own questions from your guides and queries.
Faster, higher-quality output through effective use of AI tools.
