About the Team:

Turo is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team in Canada. You will be the technical lead for our BI ecosystem, responsible for both the day-to-day administration of our tools and the long-term vision of how we scale our data platforms.

This is a role for a technical builder who cares about the "why" and the "how." You’ll combine advanced SQL and coding skills with a sharp eye for design to make sure our data isn't just accurate, but easy and intuitive for everyone at Turo to use.

What you will do:
  • Own the BI Stack: Lead administration for Domo and Tableau. You’ll manage the backend while shaping the roadmap for how these tools evolve as Turo grows.

  • Build Advanced Solutions: Use advanced BI features and custom code (HTML/CSS/JS) to build sophisticated dashboards that connect data from dozens of different sources.

  • Innovate with AI: Find practical ways to use AI to speed up development, automate repetitive tasks, and solve complex data problems.

  • Automate Everything: Manage and scale our ETL pipelines using Airflow and Jenkins, ensuring our codebase is version-controlled in GitHub.

  • Foster a Data Community: You aren't just building in a vacuum. You’ll lead user trainings, share updates via Slack, and act as a go-to mentor for analysts across the company.

  • Design for the User: Act as a "creative critic" for our visualizations. You’ll ensure everything we ship meets a high bar for design, clarity, and user experience.

Your profile:
  • 4+ years in a business intelligence or data analytics role, preferably at a high-growth tech or marketplace company.

  • Ownership Mentality: Proven ability to take full end-to-end responsibility for BI projects, moving from initial data ingestion to final visualization with minimal oversight.

  • Proven track record as an administrator for BI platforms (specifically Domo and Tableau) and managing tool roadmaps.

  • Direct experience connecting, cleaning, and harmonizing data from many different sources and tools into a unified BI layer.

  • Experience with ETL automation tools (Airflow, Jenkins) and managing production codebases using GitHub.

  • Technical Toolkit: Advanced proficiency in SQL. Strong technical background in Python and Java, with the ability to use HTML and CSS for dashboard customization.

  • Design & UX: High attention to detail and a deep care for the user experience of data; you know how to make complex information digestible.

  • Communication & Training: You excel at distilling complex technical topics. You are comfortable leading user trainings, providing Slack updates, and fostering engagement within the data community.

  • Technical Curiosity: You are naturally curious with a knack for technical systems. You proactively use AI to accelerate development and are always looking for ways to automate manual workflows.

Turo Recruiting Scam Alert:

We’ve learned that there are scammers targeting job candidates by impersonating Turo and its employees. We ask candidates to be careful of fraudulent job postings or suspicious recruiting activity during their job search, especially if they’re contacted through unofficial channels (such as Instagram, Telegram, MS Teams, etc.). In general, Turo interacts with candidates through our Careers page and via turo.com email addresses, and we don’t ask candidates for sensitive financial or personal info or request money as part of the hiring process (so an application fee or equipment costs). Candidates can also report suspicious activity to the FTC or other appropriate authorities.

Turo AI Policy:

Turo may use AI-enabled tools to support our recruiting operations, including gathering information from candidates, drafting communications, helping with interview note-taking and assessment, and so on. These tools only supplement our team; all decisions to advance or hire candidates are made by Turo employees. While we welcome candidates to use AI-enabled tools to help prepare for their interviews, the use of such tools, including any AI chatbots or note-takers, is not permitted during live interviews or technical assessments. We want to see how you consider and solve problems in real-time, so interviews and assessments are all you (unless we indicate otherwise and ask you specifically to use an AI-enabled tool to answer a question). If during the application process you require the use of an AI-enabled tool as a reasonable accommodation for a disability, please let us know at [email protected].
