We are looking for a Senior BI Developer with strong SQL expertise and experience building business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Tableau (preferred), although experience with other modern BI/reporting tools will also be considered.

This role is focused on transforming complex healthcare data into meaningful insights through robust data models, interactive dashboards, and high-quality reporting that supports data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the VP, Data Science & Analytics, you will design and develop scalable BI solutions, write advanced SQL queries, build interactive dashboards, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights. You'll ensure data quality, optimize reporting performance, and help stakeholders make informed business decisions through accurate and impactful analytics.

Business Intelligence & Data Modeling
  • Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries using AWS Redshift.

  • Design and maintain data models that support self-service analytics.

  • Analyze complex healthcare datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.

  • Deliver ad-hoc analyses that support operational and executive decision-making.

  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Dashboard Development & Reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau (or equivalent BI tools).

  • Create intuitive visualizations that communicate complex healthcare metrics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Optimize existing dashboards for usability and performance.

  • Develop standardized reporting solutions for recurring business needs.

Data Quality
  • Identify data inconsistencies and collaborate with the Data Engineering team to resolve them.

  • Document data definitions, business rules, and reporting methodologies.

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of reporting data.

Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, analytics, and operations.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL skills with 3+ years of experience working with cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift preferred).

  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau, including dashboard development and performance optimization.

  • Experience with other BI/reporting tools will also be considered.

  • Experience using GitHub for source control.

  • Exposure to Linux scripting and automation is considered an asset.

Analytical Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytical solutions.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis and providing data-driven recommendations.

Adaptability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Healthcare Experience
  • Experience working with a US-based product team is preferred.

  • Experience with healthcare data and an understanding of privacy regulations and patient safety considerations is an asset.

Communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience using project management tools such as Jira.
