About the roleHostaway is looking for its first Product Analytics leader, someone to own how we choose what to build, and to prove what it delivered. This role is about setting the standards and building the tools that help teams move faster with confidence. You'll define what good looks like, set the standards for how we measure, and bring the whole product organization along with you.
You'll work alongside our product leaders, who decide which bets we make, helping make sure the evidence behind them is solid. In a company leaning hard into AI, you'll also work out what measurement even means when the AI, not the human, is doing the work. It's a rare chance to be first: to shape the processes, metrics and KPIs, in a fast-growing, profitable, AI-first company with low bureaucracy and little hierarchy. Your work will make the impact of everyone around you visible.
Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this is a hands-on role where you will write SQL, build analyses, and mentor others rather than purely manage. While Data Engineering oversees the data pipelines, warehouse, and central architecture, you will own the product measurement layer on top, maintaining a dotted-line partnership with the CTO.
Your Mission
Set the product measurement standard: what counts as an active, adopting customer, and how every analysis gets segmented.
Bring measurement into planning early, so every product requirements document includes sizing, an expected metric impact and a measurement plan.
Design measurement where clean A/B tests aren't available, and redefine it for an AI-native product where activity metrics no longer tell the full story.
Bring numbers to investment decisions, and grow metrics fluency so product managers can bring their own numbers to reviews.
Set the technical standards and build the function: tracking plans, instrumentation specs, data quality, starting with an experienced product analyst.
Stay close to the work. You'll remain hands-on day to day, writing queries and building analyses yourself rather than only directing others.
8+ years in product analytics, ideally in B2B SaaS at a scaling stage. We're open to strong candidates from other product backgrounds too.
Strong data foundations. You know how to design clean, reliable data models together with Data Engineering, and how to set up event tracking that stays consistent across features and domains. Experience with SQLMesh is a plus. You use AI tools heavily in your own work and understand where they help and where they mislead.
Influence beyond your title. You've disagreed with a senior leader about a number, backed it up with evidence, and your definition was still in use six months later. You've helped a company move from gut feel to data-led decisions, and you work patiently with product managers to find what fits a company of our size.
You build the function, not just run it. You've set up analytics operating models rather than inherited them. You can build business models that hold up to a finance leader's scrutiny, and you can show what actually worked: designing fair comparisons in a complex B2B product and being honest about what a number does and does not prove.
Nice to have
Measuring AI features, automated workflows or API usage; product-led growth; churn modeling; platform businesses with more than one user type (ours are property managers and their guests); travel, hospitality or property technology.
This role probably isn't for you if...
You see analytics as a service desk, waiting for tickets to come in.
You're a dashboard specialist. Dashboards are an output; the real work is changing how decisions get made.
You've only worked in large, mature data organizations, where the frameworks and teams were already established.
You need a formal title to have influence.
