Who are we looking for? 

We’re seeking experienced and motivated Senior Data and AI Consultant to join our Data & Insights Advisory team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high impact, data driven solutions that support infrastructure owners and decisionmakers across complex environments spanning transport, water, energy and urban development. 

Working with an energetic and high performing team, you will: 

  • Lead the design and delivery of data driven solutions across a diverse range of infrastructure projects. 

  • Engage proactively with clients and stakeholders to understand challenges, define problems and develop trusted relationships. 

  • Design analytical approaches, write code and conduct analysis using Agile delivery principles. 

  • Apply data, AI and operational management techniques to improve client performance and decision making. 

  • Prepare clear, concise and compelling outputs including dashboards, presentations, reports and visualisations tailored to diverse audiences. 

  • Use AI and GenAI responsibly to support insight generation, knowledge capture and workflow automation. 
     

What you will bring to the team: 

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline such as data science, engineering, computer science, analytics or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. 

  • Over 4+ years of relevant experience, enabling you to work independently while supporting and mentoring others. 

  • Strong data manipulation and analytical skills, with experience using Python and SQL (additional languages are advantageous). 

  • Experience developing dashboards using Tableau and/or Power BI, and data visualisation using common data science packages. 

  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts, analytical methods and best practice data management. 

  • Experience working with version control tools, preferably Git. 

  • Exposure to asset or infrastructure domains such as transport, water or energy. 

 

These roles will ideally be based in our GHD Sydney office working hybrid – 3 days a week in the office/2 days a week working from home.

Skills Required

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualification in data science, engineering, computer science, analytics or related field, or equivalent practical experience
