Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support large-scale migration and operations on a large, high-profile DOD contract. The I3TS program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable DTRA’s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities to DTRA’s internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations. In this role, a successful candidate will be able to provide security engineering support to various project teams and interface across the program as needed. This support includes, but is not limited to, cybersecurity solutions (including network, operating system (OS) and/or application level support for systems and/or tools), environment discovery, cybersecurity documentation, cybersecurity service delivery, migration, and/or operations planning, helping to create and deliver presentations at both internal and client engagement meetings, and providing technical expertise to project teams with regard to cybersecurity solutions, support systems, guidance, policy, and implementations. The successful candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual, with a strong IT security background who excels integrating, operating, and deploying security technology and solutions and interacts well with both internal teams and clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Experience leading DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) cybersecurity activities for systems connected to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS.
- Experience with implementation of automated vulnerability testing and/or risk management controls in DevSecOps delivery methodologies.
- Experience with endpoint security solutions and reporting to CMRS.
- Experience leading risk management efforts to achieve and maintain authorization for systems using DoD and IC RMF tools (e.g., eMASS,Xacta, etc.) Experience leading vulnerability management and reporting activities in response to DoD cybersecurity directives, orders, and alerts including leveraging the output of automated tools.
- Experience delivering executive-level technical briefings and presentations to senior Government personnel.
Basic Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- MS degree and 15+ years of related experience. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- 8+ years hands-on experience designing or implementing security solutions, including all related documentation and artifacts.
- Analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
- Extensive experience in design and development of enterprise security architectures.
- Experience must include a wide range of work in creating diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology.
- Strong knowledge and experience in secure enterprise architecture design, especially with regard to C2C, IAM, NDR, EDR, SIEM, AI/ML, and other cybersecurity tools and resultant applications.
- Experience selecting effective methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve desired outcomes.
- Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as FISMA NIST SP 800-37 - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137 - Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations.
- Previous experience developing architectures, strategies, strategic plans, roadmaps, and technical standards for the federal IT enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current 8140 Level III certification or higher
- Strong Systems and/or Network Security Engineering background
- Experience building vulnerability scanning, endpoint security, network security, and SIEM/SOAR solutions in federal or large commercial enterprise environments.
- Experience with cloud authorizations.
- Strong technical project leadership skills
- Additional certifications demonstrating cybersecurity/technical mastery
