Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Advisor with B2B commodity trading experience to join our team in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. In this role, the Senior Credit Risk Advisor will assess and manage trade credit risk and exposure both at a counterparty and portfolio level, lead projects and initiatives to drive process efficiency and functional effectiveness and support the Credit Risk Manager in driving operational and team development activities.
The Senior Credit Risk Advisor will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the front, middle, and back office, Finance, Treasury, and IT teams, to support Commercial teams to take informed risk and trade profitably.
Responsibilities
  • Assess counterparty probability of default and risk level through the assessment of qualitative and quantitative counterparty data. 
  • Make informed risk decisions within ascribed authority and recommend risk decisions to management level
  • Monitor and proactively mitigate risks and exposures outside tolerances leveraging available resources including limits, payment terms, security instruments, contract management, etc.
  • Build strong relationships with Trading and Sales organizations to establish an in-depth understanding of trading strategies and relevant market drivers
  • Develop and support doubtful accounts remediation plans.
  • Proactively collaborate with other functions to efficiently execute the trade lifecycle
  • Lead projects and initiatives that drive commercial and functional value
  • Support the Credit Risk Manager in maintaining control of the counterparty risk management operation.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within a commodity trading company.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or coaching capacity with a proven track record of improving team performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Familiarity with global commodity markets with preference for energy, compliance, and/or agriculture market experience.
  • Experience with trade finance functions and instruments.
  • Ability to easily synthesize business financial statement information, attribute credit and related business risk, and draw risk conclusions
  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical, data-driven mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Have the courage of conviction to make sound, data-driven and experience-based business decisions and recommendations within ascribed decision authority.
  • Sound understanding of the order-to-cash process/ trade lifecycle process.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during irregular hours when required
  • Collaborative team player with service/ client mindset.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and ethics in all work-related matters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience in VBA, Python, R, or similar programming languages preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
