Our client, a $200M Community Bank, has asked us to assist in a search for a Senior Credit Analyst in Kansas City, KS. It will be responsible for underwriting a broad range of commercial credits up to $7MM.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Analyze the overall credit quality and risk of applicants by reviewing financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, collateral values, and other relevant information including independent online research.
- Prepare accurate financial spreads and cash flow models.
- Develop comprehensive credit presentations that include repayment capacity of the borrowers and guarantors, collateral descriptions, loan-to value and loan-to-cost calculations, and a clear summary of strengths, weaknesses, and risks.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly with loan officers to assess borrower’s needs, loan structure, and pricing.
- Ensure credit analysis and presentations reflect adherence to internal credit policies, loan administration procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assign and recommend credit risk ratings in accordance with Loan Policy guidelines.
- Determine whether requests for information should be furnished or refused based on confidentiality, requiring strong judgment and quick decision-making.
- Assist with annual loan reviews and portfolio monitoring as requested, including providing support to the Auditor during internal and external audits.
- Additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with strong emphasis in analytical skills, including accounting and finance courses.
- Minimum of 3 years prior credit analyst experience, preferably in the banking industry.
- Ability to analyze financial statements in terms of cash flow, debt service, balance sheet metrics, projection analysis and trend analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Must possess strong written, oral and presentation skills to communicate in a clear and concise manner with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, efficient and ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy.
Skills Required
