Summary: The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for advanced credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio risk management for commercial loan relationships, typically involving larger and more complex exposures. This role leads the evaluation of borrowers with aggregate exposure generally exceeding $1MM (existing and proposed), with an emphasis on complex structures, higher-risk industries, and customized loan arrangements. The Senior Analyst plays a key role in credit decision support, mentoring junior analysts, and ensuring adherence to the bank’s credit policies and risk standards.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related field.
- 5-8+ years of commercial credit analysis or related banking experience.
- Demonstrated experience handling complex commercial relationships and larger credit exposures.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Ability to perform cash flow analysis, including debt service coverage calculations.
- Strong attention to detail in order to maintain high standards of accuracy in financial analysis reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in order to demonstrate sound judgement in identifying credit strengths and weaknesses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial spreading systems (or ability to learn quickly).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in preparing credit memoranda and clearly articulating financial and risk concepts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively handle a pipeline of credit requests and portfolio responsibilities
- Credit judgement skills with willingness to develop this skill and progress toward independent underwriting capability.
- Equipment: Computer keyboard and software, Microsoft Office, Telephone, Ten-Key Calculator.
- Satisfactory Credit Bureau and Background Report.
