The Department:
This position will support the Assistant General Counsel, U.S. Product Strategy & Governance, and broader U.S. Legal team in delivering legal support across Invesco’s investment products.
The Role:
The role includes regular engagement with senior leadership, interested and independent trustees and directors, and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring legal risks are addressed in a practical and commercially aligned manner.
Responsibilities of the Role:
Product Legal (Core Focus)
- Provide legal advice relating to Invesco’s investment products, including publicly listed REITs, ETFs, mutual funds, closed-end funds, other pooled vehicles.
- Support product development, structuring, and distribution with strong Securities Laws capabilities across the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934. funds and vehicles.
- Advise on securities innovation and evolution topics, including capital markets tokenization, stablecoin ecosystem and digital asset offerings.
- Draft, review, and maintain offering documents, registration statements, and related disclosures as well as necessary memoranda to applicable governing bodies in support of product proposals
- Engage and maintain strong relationships with governing bodies across various product lines.
- Partner with Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support regulatory and disclosure-related obligations
Cross-Functional Partnership & Leadership
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to Product and business leaders, contributing to strategic decision-making
- Build effective working relationships across Legal, Compliance, Finance, and business teams
- Provide practical, solutions-oriented advice that balances legal risk with commercial priorities
- Support and lead cross-functional initiatives as business needs evolve
Requirements of the Role:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership required
- 6–12 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment
- Strong experience across Securities Laws disciplines
- Exposure to governance, disclosure, or board-related work is beneficial but not required
- Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and contribute to complex decision-making
- Strong commercial judgment and ability to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
The salary range for this position in Downers Grove is $220,000 - $235,000 base/year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
