This role is important to managing legal risk, strengthening escalation processes, and supporting sound business decisions in a regulated environment.

What you'll do:

  • Manage outside counsel on assigned matters, including scope, strategy, budget, filings, and performance against case objectives
  • Review pleadings, correspondence, investigative materials, settlement positions, and other legal documents to support accurate and timely responses
  • Partner with paralegals, legal analysts, and cross-functional teams to improve matter intake, reporting, escalation, and case tracking processes
  • Represent legal interests in internal discussions, negotiations, court-related proceedings, and other matter resolution activities as appropriate

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience practicing law in litigation, disputes, regulatory investigations, or financial services legal matters within a law firm, in-house legal department, or similar environment
  • Experience in case strategy, investigations, document requests, subpoenas, or other complex legal matters
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, legal correspondence, pleadings, and matter-related analyses
  • Experience managing outside counsel, including directing strategy, reviewing work product, and monitoring budgets and case progression
  • Juris Doctor or higher from an accredited law school, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience
  • Active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction in good standing, or ability to become licensed in the applicable jurisdiction through reciprocity, registration, or other approved process consistent with role requirements

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience supporting consumer-facing payment products or other regulated financial services offerings
  • Experience with garnishments, restraints, fiduciary administration, probate, guardianship, and third-party legal request workflows
  • Experience working with cross-functional legal operations, compliance, and product teams in a complex enterprise environment

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
