Role OverviewWe are hiring a Senior Counsel to support the company during a period of hypergrowth. This role will operate as a broad legal and business partner across the organization.
This is a highly cross-functional role spanning commercial, product, employment, operational, privacy, compliance, and strategic legal matters. The ideal candidate is business-minded, highly adaptable, execution-oriented, and excited to help build legal infrastructure from the ground up in a fast-moving AI company.
This role is hybrid and based in the San Francisco Bay Area (preferred) or Los Angeles.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a trusted legal partner across Product, GTM, Operations, HR, Finance, and leadership teams.
Support a broad range of commercial matters, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and operational legal requests.
Provide practical legal guidance related to product, privacy, AI, intellectual property, marketing, employment, and regulatory matters.
Help build scalable legal processes, templates, workflows, and internal policies to support rapid company growth.
Partner cross-functionally to identify legal and operational risks and provide business-friendly solutions.
Assist with corporate governance, compliance initiatives, and other strategic company projects as needed.
Stay current on legal and regulatory developments relevant to AI and technology companies.
Contribute to urgent and evolving business priorities outside of core subject-matter expertise.
Strong generalist legal background with the ability to operate across multiple areas of law.
Experience supporting high-growth technology or startup environments.
Practical judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Low-ego, highly collaborative, and willing to roll up sleeves on projects both large and small.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, demanding, and evolving environment with colleagues across time zones.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
J.D. and active membership in at least one state bar with ability to practice in-house in California.
6+ years of legal experience strongly preferred.
Preferred: experience with technology, AI, SaaS, privacy, commercial contracting, employment, or regulatory matters in an in-house environment.

We offer a competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package designed to align with impact and growth.
Base Salary: The anticipated salary range for this role is $200,000 - $220,000 , depending on experience, skills, and location.
