HSBMA (Hyundai SK Battery Manufacturing America) LLC. is a Hyundai Motor Group and SK On’s joint venture company to produce batteries for electric vehicle batteries.
The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture.
The new plant started production in June of 2026, with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh - enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year.
The Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Hyundai Motor Group broke ground last year on the new Hyundai Motor Group Meta plant America in southeast Georgia to make future Hyundai, Genesis and Kia EVs.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Cost Control Specialist (Korean/English bilingual) to join our team. This role will focus on key cost control and financial analysis areas, including managing budgetary and overhead expenses, month-end close, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, supporting compliance with regulatory frameworks, driving expense forecasting, providing detailed analysis reports to the Manager/CFO, and spearheading process improvements across various departments. Job Description
- Partner with the accounting team during month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results in compliance with IFRS or GAAP.
- Prepare and perform month-end closing, financial forecasting, close reporting, and executive-level presentations to deliver actionable data that empowers senior leadership to make well-informed decisions.
- Monitor and analyze inventory roll-forward and material ledger movements to ensure the accuracy of inventory valuation, material consumption, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
- Conduct comprehensive variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget/Forecast) to pinpoint key business growth drivers and provide strategic, actionable insights.
- Execute dynamic monthly rolling forecasts by analyzing critical operational drivers, including production volumes, cost structures, and potential business risks.
- Collaborate closely with the CFO to design, develop, and manage the annual budget, long-range strategic planning, and target models.
- Proactively identify cost-optimization opportunities, drive process improvements, and spearhead corporate financial efficiency initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Cost Control and Financial reporting, or a related field.
- Required Bilingual in Korean & English (Mandatory due to communication needs/expectations with South Korean headquarters)
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or similar accounting software is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), with strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Ability to problem to solve along with solid analytical skills and understanding or the business process.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify discrepancies and take corrective action in a timely manner.
- Database extraction and analysis experience.
- Experience and knowledge in Battery industry accounting are a plus.

- In-office, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM EST (Kingston, GA)

The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells in the second half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Hyundai Motor Group broke ground last year on the new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in southeast Georgia to make future Hyundai, Genesis and Kia EVs. The new site also adds to SK On’s existing presence in Georgia. In 2022, SK started production of EV batteries at its SK Battery America site in Commerce, Georgia. SK Battery America, a $2.6 billion investment, has an annual capacity of about 22 GWh, enough to support the production of more than 200,000 EVs a year.
