Your Role
- Ensure compliance with industry/profession-related licensing and regulations. Monitor legislation with prompt analysis of new legislation or regulations and aid in the implementation of any necessary changes to comply.
- Renew and maintain company and professional licensing and business registrations.
- Manage relationships with network of attorneys throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- Provide general support for litigation, mediation, and arbitration related matters.
- Assist in preparing, organizing, and maintaining corporate governance documents, such as board meeting minutes and resolutions.
- Assist with the filing of annual reports, prepare individual/firm professional license applications and renewals necessary for business operations, and liaise with business leaders for application submissions.
- Assist in legal research and drafting internal policies and procedures.
- Assist the contracts team with contract reviews, legal questions and related issues as necessary.
- Prepare and draft necessary corporate, regulatory and other related legal documents as necessary.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and managing deadlines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of legal documents, correspondence, filings and reports, ensuring they are properly organized, tracked, and up to date.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of corporate governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and meticulousness with legal documents and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of professional services industry, specifically architecture and civil engineering firms.
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, legal studies, business, communication, or paralegal studies and/or completion of a paralegal certification program.
- 10 years of corporate paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Preferred 3 years of experience in professional services firm in the architecture/engineering industry.
