Together, you’ll help our customers get the high-quality gear they need to make the most of their adventures. We are BUILT FOR THE WILD™.

About the Role

The Senior Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary legal resource for YETI’s European region, based in Amsterdam, with a core focus on supporting the Commercial organization. This role will spend approximately 60-70% of time on commercial contracting and deal support and reports to the US-based Deputy General Counsel and partners closely with the European team to deliver strategic, business-oriented legal guidance that supports growth while managing risk.

This role requires in-depth legal expertise and the ability to exercise independent judgment on complex, high-impact matters, often with long-term implications for the business. As the sole legal representative in the region, the individual must operate with minimal direction, proactively identifying risks and escalating issues, advising on strategy, and driving scalable legal solutions.

This position demands a versatile legal professional capable of navigating a broad range of legal domains beyond commercial contracting, including regulatory, employment, compliance, and corporate matters, while influencing stakeholders across a matrixed, global organization.

As the first legal hire in the region, this role will help establish and scale YETI’s EU legal function – developing pragmatic processes and structures aligned with global legal standards.

What You'll Do

  • Draft, review, redline, negotiate, and manage a wide range of complex commercial agreements, including sales, distribution, vendor, marketing, licensing, and strategic partnership agreements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to EU Commercial leadership, providing proactive, strategic legal guidance aligned with regional and global business objectives.
  • Independently assess legal and business risks in ambiguous or non-routine situations, recommending practical, scalable solutions with long-term impact.
  • Partner closely with the global Legal & Compliance team to align on legal strategy, risk tolerance, investigations, and governance across jurisdictions.
  • Provide legal support across multiple domains, including employment, regulatory compliance, marketing and advertising, consumer protection, and data privacy (GDPR) in coordination with global subject matter experts where applicable.
  • Interpret evolving EU  and UK laws and regulations and translate requirements into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve regional legal policies and processes, templates, and contracting frameworks to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for legal matters in the UK and EU, building strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Supply Chain).
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel across EU jurisdictions, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Lead or support strategic legal initiatives and cross-functional projects with regional and global impact.
  • Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal risk, compliance, and contracting best practices.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities, escalating appropriately and influencing decision-making at the management level.
  • Establish clear escalation protocols for high-risk or sensitive matters and ensure alignment with global governance standards.
  • Advise on distribution models, including selective distribution structures, reseller frameworks, and channel compliance across EU markets.
  • Support product-related regulatory matters, including consumer product compliance, labeling, and safety requirements
  • Support regional compliance programs, including anti-corruption, third-party risk management, and internal investigations, as needed.
  • Support U.S.-based global employment counsel in coordination with HR and external counsel.
  • Support litigation matters across Europe in national and EU courts.
  • Lead or support additional initiatives to support the growth and maturity of the EU legal function.

What You Bring

  • Fully qualified  to practice law in at least one EU jurisdiction required (Netherlands or UK preferred), with ability to advise across multiple jurisdictions with support of local counsel.
  • 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with significant focus on commercial contracting and in-house advisory work.
