Kroll is hiring for a Senior Corporate Counsel to provide legal support to our Risk Advisory and Financial Advisory business units in the Asia Pacific region, based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities:
Provide commercial legal advice and support to Kroll’s Financial Advisory and Risk Advisory businesses in the Asia Pacific region (Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines). Kroll’s business in the region provides services spanning valuations, investigations diligence and compliance, restructuring, expert services and financial services compliance and regulation.
Provide general legal support and solutions focused legal advice on a variety of matters to the business.
Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, such as confidentiality agreements, client engagement agreements, master services agreements, vendor agreements, hold harmless letters and RFP documentation.
Review, update, create and tailor precedent agreements and processes (including process for exceptions) as needed and appropriate.
Build strong relationships with business and work as a team player across the regional legal teams.
Task and manage outside counsel, as needed, within pre-agreed budget and scope.
Provide training to the business on applicable legal issues and/or laws/regulations.
Carry out legal research in relation to new or newly applicable legislation and on more specific points of law in the region, as needed.
Requirements:
Admitted to practice law in Australia with minimum of 8+ years’ post qualification experience.
Professional and commercial approach to problem solving and strong team ethic essential.
Solid law firm training and in-house experience with a regional or global company.
Ability and desire to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both written and oral, with the ability to write with precision and clarity.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with ambiguity at times whilst continuing to work in an orderly and organised manner.
Ability to navigate complex issues in developed and emerging markets.
Reporting:
This role will report to the Chief Counsel, Risk Advisory and Financial Advisory, EMEA and APAC.
