Compensation Range

Hourly: $23.20 - $26.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to monitor and process industry Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action events as well as, calculating and processing Amortization and Accretion and monitoring Proxy activity, while ensuring timely and accurate posting for events within the Commerce Trust Company client accounts.

Essential Functions

  • Perform complex taxation calculations on Corporate Action events to ensure cost basis and transactional accuracy

  • Monitor Proxy notices and assist internal partners on client account voting discrepancies as needed

  • Demonstrate subject matter expert (SME) level knowledge of traded securities asset types as well as securities activities such as securities trading, securities settlement, free activity, and securities income

  • Monitor, research, and resolve out of balances appearing on related reconciliation reports

  • Monitor and manage event reports and asset positions to ensure timely and accurate posting to client accounts

  • Manually calculate and post position adjustments, amortization, and accretion as needed

  • Ability to monitor cash movement related to Alternate Asset calls and distributions as needed

  • Identify and mitigate liability risks associated with corporate actions and alternative asset activities, ensuring accurate balancing and posting across all event types Identify opportunities for process improvement and process efficiencies

  • Perform special project related work as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of Traded Security Types and the impact various event types have on other aspects of security processing

  • Ability to recognize the critical impact of accurate processing and how it affects downstream processes.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to solve complex issues and make decisions.

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to think with a growth mindset and recommend ways to streamline processes for efficiency.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and perform varied assignments with frequent distractions.

  • Motivated and organized initiative-taker with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Inquisitive, agile, and strong collaborator with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that aligns with our culture and Core Values

  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 3+ years of Financial Services Industry related experience with securities knowledge required

  • Knowledge of Alternative Assets preferred

At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $23.20 to $26.90 per hour.
