Your Opportunity as the Senior Operations Support Coordinator
In this role, you will serve as a key partner to the Human Resources Manager, providing essential operational, administrative, and coordination support that enables a positive and efficient employee experience at the plant. This position plays a critical role in supporting time and attendance, payroll coordination, records management, onboarding activities, and site-wide administrative processes, while collaborating closely with Operations, Finance, and other functional partners as needed. The Operations Support Coordinator helps ensure accurate execution of people-related processes, supports plant communications and events, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts that support both operational excellence and Smucker’s culture.

Work Arrangements: 100% onsite
In this role you will:
Be responsible for accurate and timely reconciliation of timecard transactions for hourly payroll using a timekeeping software (i.e., Workday)
Develop an expert level understanding of Workday timekeeping software and site payroll policies; provide training and technical support to the facility
Assist with investigation of payroll issues, and correct timekeeping errors leading to inaccurate pay in a timely manner
Responsible for supporting the execution of plant events, meetings, and visits as well as community relations activities
Support site communication processes through plant emails, flyers, and updating video monitors and bulletin boards, etc.
Assist in managing the site employee store including staffing, ordering, pricing, inventory, and sales tax reporting
Assist with new hire orientation by scheduling subject matter experts, managing assignment of lockers, and coordinating with security on creation of badges
Manage local vendor relationships for employee uniforms and cafeteria vending products
Process unemployment claims and may participate in unemployment hearings
Provide timely and accurate reporting including, but not limited to; state census information, employee attendance, leaves of absence, etc.
Perform general administrative duties including greeting visitors, mail distribution, office supply inventory/ordering, FedEx shipments, insurance certificate tracking, and reconciling miscellaneous invoices
Assess plant processes in areas of responsibility, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes as needed
Provide support as needed for the Human Resources department
Other duties as requested to support plant operations
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in office administration
Ability to work with confidential or sensitive information with the utmost discretion
Microsoft Office experience
Demonstrated capability in analyzing data, problem solving and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with cross functional teams, inclusive of both plant and corporate audiences
Experience delivering quality customer service with warmth and professionalism
Extremely organized and detail-oriented; able to juggle multiple priorities at once with grace and a “can do” attitude
Flexibility to support off-shifts or weekends as needed
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of payroll experience
Oracle and/or Workday experience
