Senior Coordinator, Enrichment Programs (Volunteering/Mentoring)

We're seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Program Coordinator to join UQ's Student Enrichment team in this fixed term/secondment opportunity, (backfilling a period of parental leave). In this rewarding and purpose led role, you'll lead and enhance some of UQ's flagship student engagement initiatives, including our mentoring programs (Get Set and My Student Guide) and volunteering program (Get Involved), while helping students build connections, develop skills, and make the most of their university journey.

You’ll work closely with students, staff, and other key stakeholders and provide leadership and support to a small team of two staff members, drive program innovation, oversee engaging events and activities, and use data and insights to continuously improve program outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:  

• Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of UQ's student mentoring and volunteering programs. 

• Supervise and support a small team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. 

• Design and deliver engaging training, events, and initiatives that enhance the student experience. 

• Build strong partnerships across the University and with external stakeholders to expand program impact. 

• Analyse program performance and provide insights that inform strategic decision-making and future growth. 

• Contribute to projects that strengthen student engagement, student voice, and volunteer recognition initiatives

 This is a full-time, fixed term/secondment opportunity until September 2027, with the successful candidate expected to commence no later than 16 November 2026 (HEW Level 7).

You are an experienced student engagement professional who enjoys leading people, building relationships, and delivering impactful programs. You bring a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a genuine commitment to student success.

You will have:

• A relevant degree and experience working within the higher education or student experience sector.

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising staff and guiding teams through change and growth.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Experience managing programs, projects, events, or initiatives in a dynamic environment.

• The ability to analyse information, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate insights into action.
• Experience working with mentoring, volunteering, student engagement, or employability programs will be highly regarded.
