Introduction to role
The UK engineering team works as an integrated part of the worldwide Vanderlande Engineering team, consisting of over 1,000 engineers from all automated handling disciplines. An engineer joining the UK team has the opportunity and potential to contribute to a wide and diverse range of projects. We are looking for an engineer with the passion and willingness to develop designs for projects, the ability to follow challenging standards, and the drive to add value to our customers both domestically and internationally.
Role Responsibilities
The role will conform with company rules, systems, and protocols. The work will involve administrative, specialist, and technical aspects. The ideal candidate should be persistent, dependable, loyal, a good listener, and enjoy working in a logical and systematic manner. Standard operating procedures are key, so the role requires someone who is organized, structured, self-controlled, and capable of communicating facts within their area of expertise. The person should be consistent in approach, analytical, sensitive, and precise.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
Advise and review projects in the sales phase (compliance check)
Translate and optimize the "as-sold" functionality into a working LLC design within budget, in collaboration with other disciplines (LLC, HLC, Installation, etc.)
Advise the Project Leader Engineering, Integration Manager, and Project Manager on solutions to technical and multidisciplinary problems
Create detailed designs based on system design and control architecture according to the VI work method
Realize control applications and integrate into (sub)systems based on LLC design and standards (build, configure, generate/program)
Execute pre-commissioning (I/O checks, MRT, cabinet functionality, etc.)
Execute commissioning (functionality, capacity, requirements)
Collaboratively execute LLC integration (area-to-area, third-party equipment, SCADA)
Create documentation and a test/validation plan (FAT, SAT) based on MTP and coordinate with other disciplines
Execute tests in-house and/or on-site, including integration tests
Create detailed LLC planning based on the overall project plan
Report progress to the Project Leader Engineering
Role Qualification and Skills
- Able to develop LLC code in relevant platform, such as (Siemens S7)
- Has knowledge of SCADA applications in relevant platforms, such as (WinCC and , WebFactory
- Able to develop safety systems using relevant platforms, such as (Siemens S7-F, PILZ and, conventional)
- Health and safety risk analysis on component and system level
- Understands material handling systems on a system level. Basic Intermediate Advanced Expert
- Knowledge of customer processes in relevant market segments
- EM components, ccabinets and field wiring
- Previous experience in test strategies, / test methods, / risk analysis and relevant tooling, such as (Quality Center, UFT / QTP, Jenkins and e, emulation tooling
- Has knowledge of Material Hhandling Eequipment. (DOTM, RAW, ICS, ASRS, loops
- Has knowledge of business process automation (HLC)
