The OpportunityAre you ready to lead innovation in transformer control systems? At Hitachi Energy, we’re seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to join our expert team in Alamo. This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise will drive the development of advanced control solutions for transformer components. How You’ll Make an ImpactDesign and evaluate advanced electrical systems, products, and components.
Develop complex models and simulations using cutting-edge tools and techniques.
Lead engineering investigations and provide actionable recommendations.
Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, schematics, and proposals.
Analyze customer requirements and contribute to innovative product solutions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
Drive continuous improvement in product design and performance.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of SCADA, IEC 61850, and control/automation systems.
Experience with control device programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, CREO, and E3; PLM tools like Windchill are a plus.
Background in transformer substation control and protection is highly valued.
Solid knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
