About the RoleThe Senior Content Specialist plays a key role in shaping and maintaining the brand voice across multiple channels. This position is responsible for creating compelling short- and long-form content, supporting campaigns and initiatives spanning product and digital marketing, creative production, performance analytics, and day-to-day operational needs for our property portfolio and corporate marketing efforts.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator with a passion for real estate, project management, and grammar, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment.
Work Location & Flexibility
This role is based out of our Sorrento Valley office in San Diego, CA, and we prefer a hybrid schedule with on‑site presence two days per week (Tuesdays + one additional day). However, we are open to considering a fully remote arrangement for exceptionally qualified candidates located outside the San Diego area.
What You'll DoBelow is a snapshot of what this role is all about. While there is more to it, this is the core focus.
- Strategize and write content that supports Fairfield’s brand objectives and desired identity, including emails, social media, video scripts, etc.
- Research and use target keywords to write blog and website copy that is optimized for search engines while remaining engaging and informative
- Own content creation and strategy for corporate social media channels
- Assist with strategic creative programming to support corporate and community initiatives
- Play a vital role in editing/proofing all marketing collateral, websites, signage, social media, etc
- Track digital coverage of select topics and events
- Make regular updates within our content management system for website changes or edits
Social Media Management & Engagement
- Compile and analyze reporting for social media and digital content performance
- Identify social media influencer opportunities for appropriate communities
- Manage social media vendors and oversee content output for our portfolio of communities
- Be a brand steward of Fairfield’s values, website, social media, and other marketing channels to ensure content reflects the brand and its objectives
Planning, Operations & Process Improvement
- Utilize and upkeep a robust content calendar that contains and schedules all aspects of Marketing content throughout the year
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve marketing support across the portfolio
- Provide additional backup and assistance when team members are traveling or out of office

Education / Certificates
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
Experience
- 5-10+ years of communications experience, preferably in real estate, multifamily, or a fast-paced agency environment
- Experience analyzing data to make tactical decisions
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to differentiate brand voices and an impeccable eye for proofreading
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and timelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Google Workspace, and comfortable navigating digital platforms
- Familiarity with content marketing analytics (SEO, social, Google Analytics, etc)
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Strong skills in creating original content that targets a specific audience and meets company objectives
- Expertise with SEO, particularly as it pertains to writing creative copy that includes effective keyword placement and optimization
- Knowledge of social media engagement strategies and best practices
- Good eye for design and ability to follow style guide parameters

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00
This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.
The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:

* Pay range is a calculation based on a midpoint price. Fairfield complies with all wage and hour laws, including minimum wage and salary exempt requirements.
