Turning Space into a Transportation Layer for Earth

Who We Are:

Inversion builds advanced reentry systems to deliver next-generation capabilities from space.

Our mission is to make Earth radically more accessible by turning Low-Earth Orbit into an on-demand logistics domain. We see space not as a destination, but as a platform — one that unlocks unprecedented speed and global reach.

Our spacecraft are designed to deliver payloads anywhere on Earth in under an hour, operating through extreme reentry conditions and landing with high precision. These systems open the door to new ways of testing, delivering, and operating at hypersonic speeds.

Inherently dual-use, our technology is built to meet urgent national security needs while laying the groundwork for future commercial applications. Backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, and working with partners such as the U.S. Space Force and NASA, Inversion is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in space-based defense and logistics.

Position Overview:

As Inversion’s Senior Content Producer, you will serve as the company’s internal documentarian and visual storyteller, capturing what we’re building, shaping the story, and sharing it with the world.

At Inversion, we believe telling our story is critical to building the company. Great content shapes how customers understand our technology, how future employees imagine themselves here, and how the world comes to know Inversion. We want to tell that story ourselves, consistently and authentically, and this role will be at the center of making that happen.

You will be embedded with the people designing, building, testing, and flying our spacecraft, with extraordinary access to capture the story of Inversion from the inside as it happens.

One week you might be photographing engineers integrating flight hardware in Los Angeles. The next, you could be at a remote test site capturing a major vehicle test. You might spend the morning filming an engineer explaining a new piece of technology, the afternoon photographing Arc on the factory floor, and the evening cutting that footage into a video to be shared across our social media platforms.

You will own visual content from idea to final product: finding stories, planning shoots, operating cameras, directing, photographing, editing, and publishing. Just as importantly, you’ll build the visual record of Inversion, capturing not only what we need to tell our story today, but the people, hardware, milestones, and even failures that we’ll want to remember years from now.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Inversion’s visual storytelling. Work alongside the Marketing & Comms team to find and tell stories across the company, from major flight milestones to the everyday work.
  • Create exceptional photo and video content. Shoot, edit, and produce social content, technical explainers, product photography, employee stories, test coverage, and documentary-style films.
  • Be where the story is happening. Embed with our teams and travel to test sites, launches, events, and other locations to capture important moments as they happen.
  • Make complex technology compelling. Work closely with engineers and operators to turn technical work into stories people can understand and get excited about.
  • Own production from start to finish. Develop concepts, plan shoots, operate cameras, direct, edit, color, mix sound, and deliver finished work.
  • Help Inversion publish like a media company. Create a steady stream of content for social, web, recruiting, sales, press, events, and other channels.
  • Build our visual capabilities and archive. Own Inversion’s camera equipment and create an organized visual record of our people, hardware, tests, and milestones.
  • Raise the creative bar. Help define Inversion’s visual style and continually find better ways to tell our story.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience producing photo and video content.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional photography, cinematography, editing, and storytelling.
  • Excellent technical command of cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, composition, and field production.
  • Strong editing and post-production skills, including pacing, color, sound, music, and story structure.
  • Experience owning productions from concept through shoot, edit, and final delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and create exceptional content without requiring a large crew or perfect conditions.
  • Strong instincts for working with people on camera and capturing authentic, unscripted moments.
  • Highly organized and able to manage equipment, footage, files, and schedules.
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable working in fast-moving technical and industrial environments.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work nights or weekends around tests, launches, and major company milestones.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience creating content in aerospace, defense, aviation, automotive, manufacturing, motorsports, or other hardware-driven environments.
  • Experience with drone, remote camera, or other specialized field-production setups.
  • Experience with motion graphics, animation, or VFX.
  • Fluency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and similar professional production tools.
  • Genuine curiosity about aerospace, engineering, technology, and the people who build it.

The California annual base salary for this role is currently $100,000 - 150,000.  Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.  Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
