Description

Empathy is on a mission to build a more resilient society one hard moment at a time, which is why we have built the leading platform for life's hardest moments.

With AI plus human care, Empathy supports people through those times that are emotionally charged and logistically hard — from caregiving and leave support to legacy planning and loss support. We partner with life insurers, wealth firms, and banks to bring Empathy to their clients, policyholders, and advisors in the moments that matter most.

Backed by top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Index Ventures, Adams Street, Aleph and Entreé Capital. We've raised over $160 million to date, including a $72 million Series C, to expand our impact and scale our mission worldwide.

In this role you will
  • Help enhance our product content offering, guiding users emotionally and practically through life's hardest transitions.
  • Own complex content projects from 0 to 1, from initial concept through launch, in close collaboration with a cross-functional team.
  • Manage content production workflows end to end — from strategy through freelance collaboration — for the projects you own.
  • Draft, edit, and refine in-product content (written guides, audio guides, care plan steps, meditations, etc.), ensuring clarity, consistency, and relatability.
  • Ensure brand voice, messaging, and storytelling stay consistent within your product area, in line with Empathy's tone, style, and content guidelines.
  • Adapt core messaging for different audiences, products, and partner contexts.
  • Use AI tools for content research, ideation, and drafting; identify and pilot AI tools that could improve workflows, going beyond brainstorming to materially increase output, speed, or testing velocity.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Design teams, and Data/Analytics to align on user needs and goals.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in product, content, UX, or communications.
  • Native-level English, with exceptional writing, editing, messaging, and storytelling skills, and the ability to adapt tone and style across products and audiences.
  • Deep empathy and sensitivity when addressing grief, illness, caregiving, and other emotionally difficult topics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with strong cross-functional collaboration across product managers and other stakeholders. Takes feedback well and iterates quickly.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-iteration environments.
  • A track record of self-directed work: able to take a loosely defined problem, prioritize it, and drive it to a result without constant direction.
  • Comfortable writing and editing hands-on, as well as collaborating with freelance writers.
  • Understanding of product design/flow, and user experience principles.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to materially increase copy output, speed, or testing velocity, not just for brainstorming.
  • Strong understanding of content performance measurement, user insights, testing methodologies, and optimization frameworks.
  • Great organisational skills: managing multiple content projects with deadlines, versioning, review cycles.
  • Experience writing for mental health, bereavement, or other sensitive topics.
