This is a hybrid role based out of IANS’ Boston office, requiring onsite presence a minimum of 2 days per week. Some travel for client visits or presentations may be required (less than 5% of time).

Our MCP connector and Vendor Intelligence Database (VID) peer benchmarking platform deliver intelligence and structured benchmarks across the security organization, putting IANS insights where security leaders are already working.

IANS is seeking a Senior Consulting Project Manager (Senior CPM) to join its Project Delivery team. Reporting to the Director of Consulting Delivery Services, the Senior CPM is responsible for overseeing dozens of opportunities and projects simultaneously – many of which will be IANS’ largest and most complex engagements – in support of the team’s annual bookings and revenue targets. Additionally, the Senior CPM will help establish team best practice, champion internal process improvements, and train/mentor new CPMs.  

• Partner with clients, our Faculty experts, and internal stakeholders to define engagement objectives and desired outcomes.
• Participate in scoping conversations, creating Statements of Work (SOWs) in collaboration with our Faculty partners.
• Act as the connective tissue between Sales and Delivery — Account Managers should trust your judgment enough to shape deal timing, scope, and pricing conversations before a contract is signed, not just after.

• Independently manage, and deliver a large portfolio of client engagements in support of IANS’ quarterly revenue and bookings targets. The Senior CPM’s portfolio consists of IANS’ largest, most complex, engagements of critical importance to the overall success of the business. It’s not uncommon for a Sr. CPM to manage 30+ complex, multi-workstream projects and 30+ high-impact opportunities simultaneously.
• Develop a deep understanding of Consulting offerings and Sales processes in order to effectively lead client calls across the delivery and selling lifecycles. Proactively seek feedback from clients and Faculty to assess engagement experience and satisfaction levels and champion department-wide improvements as necessary.
• Build strong partnerships with key Faculty partners in order to enhance the quality and impact of IANS consulting projects, assisting in the identification and creation of new consulting offerings.
• Create and maintain playbooks, templates, and other internal assets for use across the Consulting Delivery team.
• Apply AI tools in day-to-day project delivery, including scoping, planning, status reporting, risk tracking, and drafting client-ready deliverables. Review and own all AI-assisted output for accuracy and quality.

• Forecast revenue and project completion dates for all assigned projects, maintaining a track record of accuracy and pipeline control that can be relied upon by management.
• Proactively flag project risk and upside without being prompted.
• Leverage strong Project Management skills and deep product knowledge to accelerate timelines, identify trends, and rollout process improvements at the team level.

• Assist with the onboarding of new CPMs by providing hands-on guidance related to complex engagement management, client escalation handling, product nuances, and IANS delivery standards. While there is no people management responsibilities in this role, the team members you mentor will grow into leading some of IANS’ most complex engagements.

• Work cross-collaboratively with internal teams as needed to drive continuous improvement across the Consulting Delivery lifecycle.

• You're an exceptional communicator. You anticipate what stakeholders need before they ask, and communicate with clarity and empathy across seniority levels. You're just as composed delivering a hard update to a client executive as you are coaching a CPM through their first escalation.
• You build relationships that outlast the engagement. Clients, Faculty, and internal colleagues trust you because you listen to their needs and follow through on promises. You make the people around you better by helping to enforce a team culture where people feel safe experimenting and improving.
• You own the outcome. When something goes sideways (e.g., a scope miss, a stalled engagement, a Faculty no-show) you identify the problem and work to address without waiting for an official postmortem. You turn what you learn into something the whole team benefits from.
• You don't wait to be told. You move fast, even without a fully-built playbook, because you understand what matters to the business. You thrive in a fast-paced industry where tomorrow’s problem is rarely the same as today’s.
• You've earned real credibility on security. Within 6 months of starting at IANS, you can hold your own in a room with Faculty and client CISOs. You understand the importance of industry trends on IANS’ consulting portfolio.
• What ultimately makes you effective isn't a certification or a tool — it's trust. Sales, Faculty, and clients rely on your judgment and follow-through. Team leadership trusts your judgement and assigns you the hard projects because they know you'll handle them with poise, collaboration, and strong attention to detail.

• Experience: Proven track record (5-7 years) in project management, with demonstrated ownership of large-scale, multi-phase, and/or high impact engagements. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in IT / Cybersecurity preferred but not required. For those new to information security, a passion for learning and commitment to building subject matter expertise across core security domains.
• AI Adopter: Track record of integrating AI into core work tasks to drive measurable impact and ROI, and willingness to keep learning as AI capabilities and IANS tools evolve. Experience creating AI workflows, connectors, and reusable tools preferred.
• Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification strongly preferred.
