* Job Summary
* The primary purpose of this position is to actively participate in the design, integration, and delivery of a wide range of mainframe technology solutions to clients. This position will also provide mentorship, guidance and technical leadership to engineers and associate engineers within CDW and at the client. Integrate and deliver a wide range of mainframe technology solutions providing high quality content deliverables ensuring solution is implemented as designed to the client's satisfaction and approval.
* What you will do:
* Conduct advanced and complex engineering-related studies researching current and emerging mainframe technologies, evaluates alternatives, makes recommendations, and presents reports to management.
* Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements. Mentor other engineers to apply engineering background knowledge for project design, analysis, and project coordination of services or products.
* Work with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met.
* Maintain client relationships as a trusted Technical Advisor. Serve as a collaborative support across internal teams and clients when necessary, using experience and judgment to communicate effectively to all parties. Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements. Participate in a variety of sales activities.
* What we expect of you:
* The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related technical field and 5 years total Information Technology experience, to include experience in delivering complex technical solutions, including planning, development, implementation, and support,

* 9 years total Information Technology experience, to include experience in delivering complex technical solutions, including planning, development, implementation, and support.
* The candidate must demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. They should be able to manage and escalate technical issues to the appropriate vendor support team.
* The candidate should possess strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and follow-up skills. They should have the ability to design and architect various types of infrastructure solutions and perform advanced installation and configuration services. Knowledge of vendor-supplied brands is also required.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to effectively interact with leadership stakeholders and clients. The candidate should maintain a professional, business-focused attitude and courteous manner towards clients, partners, and peers.
* The candidate should have a proven ability to identify and deliver technical documentation that meets client-defined expectations. They should pay strong attention to detail, especially client and project changes, and have demonstrated analytical skills to identify potential risks.
* The candidate should have a history of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines. They should have demonstrated experience applying lessons learned to unique problems and a history of reskilling on new technologies with the ability to determine benefits for clients.
* The candidate must be able and willing to work beyond their regularly scheduled shift, select weekends, overtime as necessary or on occasion to meet operational needs. They should have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to other CDW locations or client sites. A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
* Experience in planning, installing, upgrading, and maintaining z/OS via SMP/E and z/OSMF installation technologies.
* Proficient in installing upgrading and maintaining IBM and ISV z/OS resident products.
* Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting a variety of different z/OS configurations and subsystems, including Parallel Sysplex, shared DASD, JES2/3, DFSMS and ISV equivalents, Networking (CommServer), CICS, IMS, Db2.
* Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and business resilience for zSystems, z/OS and subsystems.
* Programming/scripting languages associated with systems programming (e.g., REXX, CLIST, JCL, assembler, metal C).
* Experience working with applications staff to plan and execute application and application development tool upgrades.
* Current experience with securing the operating system, subsystems and applications (RACF, TopSecret, ACF2).
