Job Description Summary:

The Senior UKG Consultant serves as the lead functional expert for UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM), EZ Call, and related workforce management processes, providing strategic leadership for workforce management optimization, governance, and enterprise-wide adoption. This role partners with HR, IT, Payroll, and operational leadership to guide complex initiatives, support system enhancements, and align workforce management practices with organizational strategy, compliance requirements, and operational goals while driving standardization and scalable solutions across the organization.

Responsibilities And Duties:

System Configuration Oversight & Maintenance
Responsible for reviewing, understanding, and providing operational oversight of UKG Workforce Management (WFM) system configuration in collaboration with IT.
Review and maintain functional understanding of system configuration components, including pay codes, work rules, and related structures.
Oversee all system functionality, including pay codes, work rules, comments, zones, and holiday tables/windows.
Support configuration updates and enhancements related to pay codes, accruals, and timekeeping functionality in partnership with IT.
Ensure security and access to pay codes and work rules are appropriately applied through profile structures.
Supports the data governance process, ensuring technical systems alignment and stakeholder alignment.
Advanced System Expertise & Enhancements
Lead, optimization, and enhancement efforts across UKG WFM, EZ Call, Advanced Scheduling, and UKG Extensions.
Evaluate new UKG releases and functionality; recommend and implement adoption strategies.
Lead system testing, validation, and move-to-production activities for upgrades and enhancements.
Leads all activity and support needed for new users with functional adoption (M&A, New Units, etc.).
Process Optimization & Analytics
Analyze workforce and labor data to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and standardization.
Design system-based solutions to reduce overtime, agency utilization, manual punch edits, and scheduling inefficiencies.
Ensure system configurations support enterprise governance and consistent operational practices.
Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as the primary functional and technical liaison between HR, IT, Payroll, and operational leaders.
Partner closely with UKG and vendor teams to resolve complex issues and influence system enhancements.
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into effective system solutions.
Provide mentorship and guidance to UKG Consultants, Analysts, and Specialists.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure UKG rules align with organizational policies, labor laws, and governance guardrails.
Maintain audit-ready system documentation.
Support enterprise-wide consistency and compliance in scheduling and timekeeping practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Additional Job Description:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Experience supporting large-scale UKG implementations or enterprise optimizations.

Familiarity with reporting tools such as UKG Analytics and Business Intelligence.

Healthcare workforce management experience.

Demonstrated ability to mentor others and provide technical leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting UKG Pro WFM or similar workforce management systems.
  • Deep expertise in UKG configuration, integrations, and system architecture.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, labor compliance, and workforce governance.
  • Proficiency in configuring pay rules, accruals, scheduling rules, and timekeeping workflows.
  • Proven ability to lead complex system initiatives in large, matrixed organizations.
