What Strategic Planning/Execution contributes to Cardinal Health
Strategic Planning/Execution is responsible for developing and supporting the realization of enterprise and category specific strategic plans and management agendas.
The Pharmaceutical Strategic Sourcing organization is a centralized sourcing team, with world class talent, recognized for creating strategic supplier partnerships and unlocking enterprise value, innovation and best cost to benefit Cardinal Health, patients and providers. Strategic Sourcing leverages global enterprise scale and deep domain expertise to increase and accelerate value capture; enhances supplier management practices to improve collaboration and performance; and establishes a leading talent management program which creates growth opportunities for the team.
Location
This role will be a hybrid position; 3 days in-office per week at the Dublin, OH headquarters.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Support the Strategic Sourcing annual planning process through collaboration with Strategic Sourcing leadership.
- Assist in developing category‑specific sourcing strategies for the most important product categories.
- Work with functional sourcing leads and product category managers to develop three‑year sourcing strategies.
- Develop and articulate understanding of healthcare market trends affecting customers, competitors, and product markets.
- Synthesize market and enterprise data to prepare summaries for executive leadership and industry conferences/events.
- Develop business cases and articulate clearly through executive level presentations.
Strategic Execution
- Support the execution of key strategic initiatives for the Strategic Sourcing organization.
- Identify sourcing synergies, build action plans to capture them, and plan execution of those strategies.
- Analyze datasets and navigate tools to identify areas of common product spend across the enterprise.
- Assist in identifying and quantifying opportunities for cost reduction through strategic moves beyond year‑to‑year cost takeout.
- Lead cross-functional project teams using project management techniques to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with workstream owners to provide appropriate levels of project support.
- Ensure timely completion of key initiatives.
Strategic Partnerships
- Support the establishment of new business models/entities, and existing joint ventures.
- Support top to top meetings with critical manufacturer partners.
- Develop partnerships cross-enterprise and coordinate efforts with internal stakeholders, including corporate strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- 5 years of experience in related field preferred
- Experience in consulting, strategy, and/or project management preferred
- Deep knowledge of Cardinal Health business units a plus
- Advanced command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
