Job Title: Senior Consultant-Automation Engineer

Location/s: India, Philippines, Romania

Role description & Role accountabilities:

Description: As a Senior Consultant – Automation Engineer, you will play a strategic senior role within the Global Excellence Center (GEC), supporting the design, delivery, and evolution of enterprise digital solutions and custom-built platforms that enable data‑driven decision‑making.

While the role is positioned within the data engineering discipline, this position requires strong experience in architecting and delivering integrating data pipelines, APIs, and cloud services into scalable, user‑centric digital platforms. You will be recognized as a senior professional who bridges data, application development, and business outcomes, influencing solution direction and delivery standards across global teams.

Accountabilities: 

Digital Solution & Platform Delivery

• Lead the delivery of automated data pipelines that consume, process, and present data for business users.
• Own end‑to‑end solution delivery, spanning requirements discovery, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet standards of performance, scalability, security, and usability.
• Guide teams in building automated data pipelines, dashboard development, internal tools, and client‑facing portals.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Act as a technical authority across data engineering application architecture.
• Define and govern solution architectures combining data pipelines, APIs, backend services, and modern web frontends.
• Drive adoption of MS Azure Services, Python, PySpark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, PowerBI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Logic Apps , Azure SQL Databases.
• Champion best practices in application lifecycle management, code quality, and secure development.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and clients to translate business needs into bespoke digital and web‑based solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in solution discussions, delivery planning, and estimation.
• Build trusted relationships through clear communication and consistent delivery.
• Lead, mentor, and develop multi‑disciplinary teams including data engineers, application developers, and analysts.
• Identify capability gaps and drive upskilling in custom web development, cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performing, and innovation‑friendly team culture.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, resourcing, and budget management across multiple initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to delivery governance, safety standards, and organizational policies.
• Proactively identify risks related to delivery, performance, or security and drive mitigation.
• Contribute to the evolution of digital and data‑enabled offerings, accelerators, and solution frameworks.
• Promote innovative approaches that improve efficiency, user experience, and long‑term sustainability.
• Support strategic initiatives that advance enterprise digital platforms.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, digital solution delivery, or custom application development. 
• Proven experience leading custom-built web applications or internal digital platforms alongside data solutions. 
• Experience working in multi‑project, consulting, or global delivery environments.
• Strong experience integrating data pipelines with custom web applications. 
• Working knowledge of modern web technologies such as: 
  • MS  Azure Services, 
  • Python, PySpark, 
  • Databricks, 
  • Azure Data Factory, 
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Power Platform

Technical and Professional Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and application deployment. 
• Understanding of data visualization, analytics enablement, and web based reporting platforms. 
• Strong stakeholder management and problem solving skills.
• Leadership: Leads through influence, mentorship, and technical credibility.
• Solution Thinking: Connects data engineering with real‑world digital use cases.
• Collaboration: Works effectively across disciplines, regions, and cultures.
