Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Consultant, Data Governance will work to ensure Cargill data assets are properly governed through practices that promote proper ownership, quality, protection, access and reliability. With minimal supervision, you will define and operationalize data ownership models to ensure accountability and stewardship across the organization. You work closely with business and technical stakeholders to assign data owners, clarify responsibilities, and enforce data quality and lifecycle management standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Leads the definition of data ownership roles, responsibilities and expectations across the organization
- Establishes the ownership policies, templates, guardrails and best practices by which data owners must govern their domain
- Facilitates communities of practice and connection to bring data teams and individuals together to learn, grow & mature together
- Serves as a domain expert and contributes to developing, deploying and maintaining data strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
- Partners with cross functionals teams to educate, enforce & support data discovery, strategy definition and activation for maturing data management and governance activities.
- Develops and deploys training programs to improve organizational literacy, compliance to data standards and policies and increased understanding of accountability for data responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience
Preferred:
- 5-years' experience in data leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate without boundaries
- Proficient at defining shared needs and leading through change
- Expertise in data governance practices
- Familiarity with data governance technologies
Short Description
The expected salary for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
