Everforth ECS is seeking a Senior Configuration Manager to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
This role directs enterprise Configuration Management operations for WDP Core Integration, establishing formal configuration control policies, auditable baselines, and technical governance structures across IL2, IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
• Directs enterprise Configuration Management operations for WDP Core Integration by establishing formal configuration control policies, auditable baselines, and technical governance structures spanning IL2, IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
• Develops configuration process frameworks incorporating version identification, change tracking, dependency mapping, and lifecycle state management aligned with mission requirements supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Staff elements, Senior Executive Service stakeholders, and operational data communities.
• Operates configuration systems using GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow CMDB, and automated asset discovery tools to document component versions, software lineage, infrastructure relationships, and environment-specific configuration states.
• Executes configuration audits, discrepancy analyses, and remediation workflows to eliminate drift, validate baseline integrity, and sustain accuracy across Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration-as-Code, hardened virtual machines, secured containers, and application services.
• Produces configuration readiness reports, deviation summaries, and baseline certification packages used to support deployment authorization, enclave accreditation, cyber inspection cycles, and DevSecOps release gates.
• Coordinates closely with software engineers, DevSecOps pipeline engineers, cybersecurity assessors, network engineers, and operations personnel to synchronize configuration updates, track change impacts, and preserve operational stability across distributed enclaves.
• Develops standardized templates, repository structures, automated checks, and configuration monitoring dashboards that elevate transparency, strengthen configuration accuracy, and reduce operational risk across the WDP Core Integration enterprise.
• Leads mentoring efforts that elevate configuration discipline, accelerate onboarding of junior personnel, and strengthen mission readiness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• 10‑12 years of experience in configuration management for enterprise IT environments, including secure military or intelligence agencies.
• Proficiency with GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow CMDB, automated asset discovery tools, IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerization best practices.
• Experience implementing configuration control in multi‑level security environments (IL2‑IL6, JWICS) and aligning with DevSecOps release gates and cybersecurity inspection cycles.
• Proven track record conducting configuration audits, discrepancy analyses, remediation workflows, and ensuring baseline integrity.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end‑users to executive management).
