We’re looking for a hyper-creative, highly skilled and deeply collaborative Concept Artist who can create highly stylized, resonant, fresh and iconic characters, creatures and skins that appeal to players of different backgrounds all over the world.
You’ll draw from a broad set of sources and styles to inspire and demonstrate creative range. You’re not precious about ideation and understand that it may take a lot of tries to get to the right answer. You understand the constraints of the game and make stuff that translates intelligently into 3D. You work hand-in-hand with other disciplines to make something authentic to the game that players will love.
Ideally, you have:
- 5+ years of experience in games as a concept artist collaborating with 3d artists and designers to help establish visual targets and character ideation
- World-ending creativity
- Proficiency in Photoshop and other relevant painting tools
- A portfolio of concept art with characters, heroes, creatures, and other human form that demonstrates your artistic abilities
- Ability and adaptability to to create stylized concept art with an established creative vision and art direction

A key aspect of our compensation philosophy is that value creation should be aligned with rewards. Right now this means that equity is a significant portion of every full-time employee’s compensation and in the future we will look at tools like performance based bonuses and profit sharing. What will always be true is that if we win, we win together. Theorycraft offers competitive base salaries and generous equity packages for full-time employees. As a pre-revenue startup, our base salary range for all roles, including this one, is $80k-$225k. Final base salary will be determined by an array of factors including internal equity, job related knowledge, skills, and work experience.
