    • Evaluate electronic components based on performance, reliability, availability, cost, lifecycle, and application requirements
    • Own component qualification for new parts, alternates, and changes, in coordination with design engineers, including qualification plans, test requirements, acceptance criteria, results review, and final approval
    • Review new part requests against design requirements and component risks, ensuring alignment with component selection standards, derating guidelines, and preferred parts strategies before production release.
    • Partner with design engineers on component selection, trade studies, and resolution of component related technical issues
    • Manage component part creation and release, including AML/AVL records and required component data and documentation within PLM
    • Provide component engineering input during design and production-readiness reviews
  • Drive component lifecycle and supply continuity for assigned products and programs
    • Perform BOM reviews and proactively identify obsolescence, availability, lead time, single source, and other component risks
    • Drive PCN, EOL, shortage, last time buy, second source, and alternate component activities

  • Coordinate production and sustaining activities across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and external suppliers
    • Coordinate qualification of component manufacturers in partnership with Supply Chain and Quality
    • Own component quality investigations and failure analysis in coordination with the Quality team, including supplier containment and corrective actions, and drive resulting design and process improvements
    • Support ECOs, deviations, and sustaining changes resulting from component qualification, lifecycle, supply, and quality activities
  • Ensure environmental and material compliance requirements are addressed and maintain current lifecycle, sourcing, compliance, and qualification information within PLM
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers as needed and contribute to continuous improvement of Component Engineering practices
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
