Senior Compliance Officer - Regulatory Affairs (PFS Environment)

The main objective of the Senior AML/Compliance Officer is to prevent, by all reasonable means, the occurrence of AML/CFT risks (including risks of legal or regulatory sanction, financial loss or damage to the reputation of CSC Luxembourg.
Compliance aims at stimulating, monitoring and controlling the observation of laws, regulations, internal rules - including the CSC Principles of Business Conduct - and ethical standards that are relevant to the integrity and, hence, to the reputation of CSC.
- Analysis and assessment of onboarding documentation for high-risk prospective clients, prepared for the Local Acceptance Committee, including the identification of AML/CFT risks.
- Drafting written compliance advice and preparing notes/minutes for Local Acceptance Committee meetings concerning high-risk prospective clients.
- Review of periodic file reviews performed by the First Line of Defence ("FLOD") for high-risk clients.
- Review and assessment of escalated high-risk transactions.
- Review and assessment of escalated high-risk investors.
- Active participation in team meetings, including sharing experience and knowledge, addressing critical matters, and recommending process improvements.
- Ongoing monitoring of new regulations, laws, circulars, and industry publications, and proactive dissemination of relevant updates.
- Providing guidance and support to Compliance Officers and Junior Compliance Officers.
- Sharing new practices and developments in the compliance field and promoting a strong compliance culture and awareness across CSC.
- provide training to new joiners: teach and contribute to trainings and/or update on training materials.
- Support to the Senior Compliance Manager
- Preparation of reports on reviews performed, key findings, and required follow-up actions for inclusion in the quarterly report to the local management team, the Head of Compliance, and the RC.
- Execution of key AML controls, including blacklist and PEP screening, assessment of the completeness and quality of KYC files, staff training oversight, and review of client files.
- Assessment of escalations from the First Line of Defence and drafting of alert reports for potential SAR/STR filings to the FIU when required.
- Provision of support during internal and external audits, including responding to queries and supplying requested documentation.
- Assistance with due diligence questionnaires and participation in due diligence meetings.
- Profile
- Education: University (min. BAC+4) Degree in law or economics and finance
- Have perfect English language skills, with French and German considered to be an asset
- Have subject matter expertise in AML regulations covering Luxembourg, other European jurisdictions, and the US.
- Good understanding of the range of fiduciary services offered in the Funds and domiciliation industry
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills, liaising with the business and with compliance
- Demonstrated effective communicator skills
- Experience working within a compliance function for at least 3 years
- Good time management and ability to work under pressure
- Must be committed and driven to achieving excellence
- Strong personality to challenge anyone about any action in an appropriate and balanced manner
- Team Player with Hands-on and proactive approach
