Senior Compliance Operations Analyst
About The Position
Mimecast Legal/GCO is looking for a Compliance Operations Specialist to join our dynamic, fast-paced global team. You'll own compliance processes end to end, not just help run them. You'll drive compliance initiatives that strengthen our ethical culture, align with international regulatory standards, and reinforce our commitment to a respectful workplace for every Mimecaster.
As a member of our Legal/GCO team supporting Mimecast's global operations, you'll work with real independence. You'll be responsible to recommend improvements before problems surface, and be the person other Mimecasters and outside stakeholders come to for a straight answer on compliance processes and requirements.
Key Responsibilities
You'll support the Company's ethical workforce and Company initiatives by:
Training & Awareness
- Support the design and global rollout of corporate compliance training programs, partnering with the Chief Compliance Officer to keep content current, engaging, and aligned to company values and regulatory need.
- Independently manage training logistics for live and virtual sessions across regions and time zones, including scheduling, communications, and completion tracking.
- Analyze training-effectiveness metrics and recommend program and content enhancements. Don't just report the numbers, act on them!
Policy Management
- Own the centralized Compliance policy repository and Mimecaster acknowledgment workflows, with accountability for accuracy and global applicability under general supervision.
- Lead policy review and update cycles in partnership with the Chief Compliance Officer, outside legal counsel, and business stakeholders, recommending enhancements to systems and processes rather than simply facilitating them.
Regulatory Monitoring & Engagement
- Engage directly with outside local counsel, where needed, to track global regulatory developments relevant to our compliance program.
- Recommend operational adjustments to the compliance program and reporting processes based on regulatory change, audit findings, and program metrics.
- Prepare and help present compliance reports and analyses for senior leadership.
Compliance Operations & Tracking
- Own the systems and processes that track Mimecaster attendance, training completion, and policy affirmations globally.
- Lead support for audit and internal review processes, ensuring evidence of compliance is accurate, current, and well organized with minimal oversight.
- Provide broader support to the Company's general compliance program as priorities evolve.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience running global training programs and policy management processes, with the judgment to run them under general supervision.
- Practical knowledge of project management; comfortable managing complex projects or processes with general oversight rather than step-by-step direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain and interpret compliance topics to parties outside your own team.
- The highest standards of ethics, discretion, professional integrity, and commitment to fostering a culture of respect and compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within and influence cross-functional teams.
- Working proficiency in data analytics to ensure accuracy of compliance metrics to accurately report to Mimecasters and senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently and self-drive toward objectives, often in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, with moderate impact on departmental results.
- Sound business judgment, risk assessment, and critical thinking, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, to recommend solutions.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage several complex projects with significant, sometimes long-lasting impact, under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility and willingness to work across a broad variety of legal and compliance matters, and to keep developing as your career progresses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business, Compliance, or a related field preferred.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal operations, or risk management, preferably within cybersecurity, SaaS, or another highly regulated industry.
- As a global company with offices worldwide, you should be comfortable operating with reduced supervision across a global time-zone environment, and able to travel internationally.
