ABOUT OUR COMPANY:
The crushing weight of debt is something that we believe holds people back from reaching their dreams and making a splash in the world. So in 2013, after seeing our friends and family struggle with student loans, we created Splash Financial.

Over the years, our mission has expanded to include helping people with other forms of debt - such as refinancing credit cards, which are at all time highs in the US. And we’ve been able to refinance $6+ Billion in loans through our network of Splash, powered credit union and bank partners who leverage our marketplace and automated loan processing technology. And we’ve raised over $135 million from investors like partners of DST Global, Citi Ventures, TruStage Ventures, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, and more.

But at our core, we’re still that little company from Cleveland with a big dream: to make people more powerful than their debt and we’re just getting started..

ABOUT OUR WORKPLACE:

Splash is remote-first, and proud of it — though our collections team works in-person at our Arizona location.

We spend our days simplifying financial products and getting them into the hands of people who need them most. Right now, we’re focused on building financial technologies that fundamentally transform how the industry lends.

Although Splash has been around since 2013, we still operate like a startup — fast-paced, nimble, and full of heart. We’re good people who care deeply about doing meaningful work and we approach challenges with creativity, passion, and urgency.

And to hire the best, we provide the best: great health insurance, competitive salaries, and unique benefits like quarterly meet-ups and access to engagement tools that keep us connected — even from afar.

At Splash, everything we do is guided by our values:

Own It – We take full accountability and follow through on commitments.

Raise the Bar – We move fast, innovate faster, and push through barriers.

Say the Hard Thing – We speak up with honesty, respect, and a desire to solve problems and make things better.

Elevate Each Other – We win as a team by lifting each other up.

These values show up in how we work and how we connect — whether we’re collaborating on big projects or bonding over everyday moments. Yes, we even have Slack channels for #kids-and-pets and #food because we believe being human makes us better teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Splash Financial is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to help build and scale our compliance program for consumer lending products. This is a build role, not a maintain-the-status-quo one: you'll combine strategic advisory with hands-on execution, partnering with Legal to guide product development, working directly with our bank partners on their compliance obligations for Splash programs, and designing the scalable workflows that let compliance keep pace with a fast-growing lending business. You'll also lead automation initiatives and own issue tracking, including complaints — all with the mandate to make compliance a strategic enabler of growth, not a bottleneck.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH:

Product & Partner Advisory

  • Act as a compliance advisor for new product development, ensuring alignment with federal/state regulations and bank partner requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, and Operations to embed compliance into the product lifecycle from the start, not bolted on at the end.
  • Review implementation logs and documentation to support bank partner approvals.

Systems & Workflow Design

  • Design and operationalize end-to-end compliance workflows, transitioning manual processes into automated, scalable systems.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor compliance health, regulatory obligations, and risk indicators.
  • Continuously improve compliance systems, tools, and workflows to keep pace with rapid growth and evolving regulations.

Issue Management & Training

  • Review and respond to escalated complaints, identifying trends and root causes.
  • Manage issue tracking and remediation across the organization, escalating unresolved exceptions and driving timely resolution.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training, including annual certification training, to keep staff current on best practices.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPLASH:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 6-10 years in compliance or risk management within fintech or financial services; experience with consumer lending and bank partnerships strongly preferred.
  • CRCM, CUCE, CUCO, CFE, CIA, or similar credentials are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal consumer protection regulations (ECOA, TILA, FCRA, FDCPA, UDAAP, GLBA and privacy, OFAC).
  • Proven ability to design scalable compliance workflows and leverage technology for automation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Jira).
  • Highly organized and execution-oriented, with a genuine ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $195,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.

SPLASHERS ENJOY:

  • Fully remote work freedom (for most roles)
  • Competitive salary packages
  • Flexible PTO + 9 company holidays
  • Equity: Share in our start-up success
  • Comprehensive and affordable insurance benefits
  • Paid parental leave for both caregivers
  • Essential modern equipment to get the job done
  • Fully paid Claude subscription to supercharge your work
  • 401(k) for your future savings
  • Quarterly meet-ups: In person & virtual fun
  • Awesome Splash swag to flaunt your team spirit

What We Do

In 2013, we set out to solve a problem: we got tired of seeing our friends and family struggle under the crushing weight of student loan debt. Debt can hold people back from opportunities and delay the impact they’re meant to make in the world. So we did something about it and built a life raft; we started Splash Financial. We built a marketplace of banks and credit unions focused on helping people refinance their student loans. Our goal was simple: use the power of our network to deliver great rates and real savings. And we did it all from a tiny office in Cleveland, OH. In 2022, we expanded our products to help people tackle credit card debt, assisting more people to find better financial footing. By 2025, we launched a home equity line of credit product, allowing homeowners to leverage their equity to reduce costs in their everyday lives and unlock new possibilities. Throughout all this growth, we’ve helped more than 125,000 people refinance over $6 billion in loans and one thing has remained consistent: to make people more powerful than their debt! We’re here to make loan stuff way less complicated - and faster than you’d expect. Whether you’re refinancing student loans, consolidating credit card debt, or tapping into your home equity with a HELOC, we help you get your debt together quickly with our streamlined online process. How? Thanks to automated underwriting and our hybrid marketplace, you get matched with offers from banks and credit unions across the country — even the ones you’ve never heard of but wish you had. It’s all powered by seriously smart tech designed to get you approved quickly, so you can stop stressing and start saving. Fast, easy, and all at your fingertips.

Why Work With Us

Splash is remote-first, and proud of it. We spend our days focused on developing financial technologies that fundamentally change the way the industry lends. We’re friendly, folksy, and we’re good people who want to make a difference in the financial landscape, and we approach tackling challenges with creativity, passion and urgency.
