About the Role
The Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst is a critical part of Abnormal Security’s Competitive Intelligence program & Product Marketing organization. This role will be a valued team member who researches & tracks competitor movements while developing high-impact competitive messaging and infusing it throughout internal and external-facing assets. The Competitive Intelligence Analyst will regularly enable the sales and marketing teams on competitive developments and collaborate cross functionally across the organization to ensure our solutions remain competitive, differentiated, and value-driven.
What you will do
- Research and analyze our competitor’s movements, strengths, weaknesses, and cybersecurity market trends.
- Build cross functional relationships to gather and disseminate competitive information.
- Act as internal expert on the details of competitors’ offerings and how they compare & compete against Abnormal’s offerings.
- Translate technical details into actionable, bite-sized insights for all of Abnormal to use.
- Build & measure the effectiveness and adoption of battlecards, newsletters, competitive repositories, data libraries, and other competitive assets.
- Strategize strong messaging and positioning focused on how Abnormal is differentiated from the competition, and proactively build it into marketing and sales content.
- Heavily use ChatGPT & other GenAI tools for competitive asset creation and management.
- Enable sales, marketing, and product audiences to properly position and differentiate Abnormal’s offerings relative to competitors.
- Support product and go-to-market decision making by partnering with Sales, Product Management, other Competitive Intelligence professionals, and the broader Marketing teams.
Must Haves
- 5+ years at fast-growing cybersecurity company, email security experience strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of competitive intelligence, technical marketing, and/or relevant sales engineering/solution architect experience.
- 3+ years of win/loss analysis experience.
- 1+ years of experience and passion for ChatGPT, Claude, or other GenAI tools.
- High technical acumen with proven ability to quickly digest and translate technical information.
- Extensive experience performing both qualitative and quantitative technical research.
- Strong written communication, oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience presenting to sales, executives, customers, & specialized audiences.
- Project management and self-driven organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Prior competitive intelligence experience at an email security company.
- Direct experience evaluating the email security market.
- Security practitioner experience working in a SOC and/or IT team handling email triage.

Base salary range:
$170,000—$200,000 USD
