Job Description
About the role:
The Senior Communications Specialist reports to the Site Head of Communication. You are responsible for all site-wide communications, including creating strategies and running all communication channels. You will work with several departments and main groups, including site leaders, HR and employee resource groups, to communicate internal messages. You will communicate information and stories about the site to the company through global channels. You will help organize and faciliate site visits and tours for internal groups visiting the site.
How you will contribute:
- Internal Site Communications
- Creates and maintains an internal communications strategy for the site
- Work with the Site Head and Site Leadership Team to communicate important messages to the organization through emails, all-employee meetings, signage and other channels
- Work with different departments to communicate their key messages to the site
- Maintain all site-wide communication channels (email, newsletter, digital sigange, physical signage, meetings, internal social media, intranet, etc.) and looks for ways to improve their usage
- Write articles and posts to showcase the site within the broader company
- Create presentations and other materials for key internal meetings and events
- Create physical and digital posters and signage
- Take photo and video of internal events
- Provide and facilitate communications training to site leaders and key business partners
- External Communications
- Provide support for all external communications (social media, media requests, external meeting and events, etc.)
- Be a backup for the site's external communications lead
- Special Projects
- Works on a variety of other special projects at the direction of the site head or site leadership team
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelors degree and 3+ years of related experience or 5+ years of communications, marketing, journalism and public relations experience
- Research, writing and editing skills
- Fluent in English with a grasp of English grammar, spelling and syntax
- Experience working with subject matter experts to translate technical information into layman terminology
- Basic graphic design skills required
- Comfortable with speaking in front of large groups and leading events and meetings
- Photography and videography shooting and editing skills preferred
- Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication and make improvements

Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to create quality products and we aim to create a safe environment for our team members. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm's way. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
- Will occasionally travel to community events in surrounding counties or Metro Atlanta
- May travel to other Takeda sites
- Will need to lift up 20+ pounds to help set up for internal and external events
