Your role


We're looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to join our team! This role can be based anywhere in Canada. 


As a key member of the Communications team, the Senior Communications Specialist plays a strategic role in helping employees understand, align to, and execute on the organization's priorities. This role requires a deep understanding of business objectives, organizational priorities, and employee needs to ensure communications drive awareness, understanding, engagement, and action.


The Senior Communications Specialist participates in the development and implementation of enterprise communications strategies that support our strategy, culture, and learning environment. Working closely with leaders and cross-functional partners, the Specialist translates complex business priorities into clear, meaningful, and actionable communications that help employees connect their day-to-day work to the organization's broader direction.


The Specialist develops communication approaches that scale across the business while remaining relevant and contextualized for different audiences. Serving as a strategic advisor, they help transform information into understanding, alignment and execution. Through clear, consistent, and actionable messaging, they help ensure key priorities remain visible, understood, and acted upon across the organization.


The successful candidate is both a strategic thinker and an exceptional communicator, combining strong research, writing, and editing capabilities with excellent consulting, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills. They are comfortable partnering with leaders at all levels to identify communication needs, shape messaging, and develop communication strategies that foster understanding, learning, alignment, and organizational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with teams across the business to plan and deliver communications that support company priorities and key initiatives.
  • Develop clear, concise, and actionable messaging that helps employeesunderstand what matters, why it matters, and what they need to do.
  • Lead and support communications projects, working with stakeholders tocoordinate activities, manage timelines, and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide communications advice and support to leaders, including executive communications, presentations, Town Halls, and employee engagement activities.
  • Manage and improve communication channels (including SharePoint) andtools to ensure important information is easy to find, understand, and act on.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Business,Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in corporate, internal, strategic, or organizationalcommunications.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand business priorities and translate complex information into clear, relevant, and actionable communications. · Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and provide communications advice to leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Knowledge of InDesign, photo editing, and video editing software is considered an asset. · Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

Expected Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 (CAD)


This compensation range represents our good-faith estimate at the time of posting, based on market benchmarks and internal equity. Final compensation will be determined considering the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and regional consideration. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.

Skills Required
