The Position

The Corporate Communications Business Partnering Team is part of the Group Communications (GC) Organisation. Driven by Roche's vision for a healthier future—innovating science and ensuring healthcare access today and for generations to come—this key position reports to the Head of Corporate Strategy and Sustainability Communications Business Partnering, managing strategic communications for high-priority enterprise topics like sustainability across the Roche Group.

As a Business Partner in the Corporate Communications Business Partnering Team, your primary responsibility is to act as an advisor to select senior leaders and develop impactful, effective communications strategies and plans that support reputation outcomes related to sustainability and other corporate topics. This involves securing buy-in for these strategies and overseeing their successful implementation.

The Opportunity
  • Develop integrated communications strategies and foundational messaging for designated business partners that elevate Roche's reputation among internal and external audiences.

  • Drive reputation outcomes in sustainability and corporate topics, overseeing the end-to-end process in partnership with GC Centers of Excellence (CoE) to build engaging content, tools, channels, and mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with the Digital Communications CoE to establish robust metrics and evaluation to measure communication effectiveness.

  • Act as a proactive and strategic counsel for the business, bringing a bigger picture perspective to prioritize, anticipate impacts, risks, and opportunities, while providing clear, insights-based recommendations.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with partners and stakeholders, navigating diverse views and expectations under pressure to reach solid decisions and foster a culture of collaboration.

  • Serve as a bridge between the Group's Corporate and Sustainability Strategy and GC strategy—briefing CoEs on business rationale, defining tangible outcomes, and ensuring quality execution.

  • Identify synergies with other Communications Business Partners, ensuring alignment within the Corporate Strategy, Sustainability, and Sites organisation, and seeking strategic partnership opportunities across boundaries (such as disease areas, Pharma & Diagnostics).

Who You Are
  • A well-rounded communications expert with 10+ years of experience in strategic communication roles across various disciplines (such as corporate communications, sustainability comms, reporting, policy, internal, external, media relations) and a relevant University degree (journalism and/or strategic communications preferred).

  • Possess knowledge of corporate sustainability topics, ideally in the healthcare industry, with a systems-thinking mindset to see the bigger picture and manage details across complex organisations.

  • Demonstrate strong executive presence, business acumen, consulting, leadership, and intercultural skills to influence leaders, coach on communication delivery, and thrive in a matrixed, multicultural environment.

  • Experienced in driving strategic communications in a fast-paced setting with strong leadership capabilities and a collaborative approach.

  • Native-level English writing and strong verbal communication skills are required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
