Position Overview:
MPC has an opportunity for a Senior Commercial Compliance Analyst. This role is open to Findlay, Houston or San Antonio and supports the Middle office’s independent oversight of Commercial Trading. This role works closely with Commercial Management, Law, Enterprise Risk and Internal Audit and across the Middle Office teams to build Commercial Compliance oversight aligned to Commercial growth aspirations. Middle Office is new to MPC and this is an opportunity to perform controls and oversight processes to help shape the Middle Office relationships and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts trade surveillance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks
- Maintains updates to desk procedures
- Researches and supports the implementation of new policies, procedures resulting from internal review or regulatory requirements.
- Ensures compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Performs daily trade surveillance and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assists with planning of compliance training for the front and back office.
- Manages exchange, clearing, and brokerage accounts for derivatives.
- Provides guidance to the front office regarding policy and regulatory implications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline required.
- Five (5) years of risk assessment experience in energy trading, banking, or capital markets required.
- Power BI and interpretation of large data sets preferred.
- Holistic understanding of commodity transaction flows and functional requirements preferred.
