1). Review Inpatient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for dignoses and procedures and assigns POA indicators correctly
2). Thorough understanding and application of medical necessity, DRGs, APGs and APRs for processing claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze trauma patient records in the inpatient department
- Assign accurate ICD codes and DRG grouping for trauma cases
- Ensure proper documentation for injuries, procedures, and treatments
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff for missing or unclear information
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and coding guidelines
- Handle audits and ensure error-free billing for trauma cases
- Generate reports related to trauma admissions and outcomes
Skills Required
- Thorough understanding of ICD-10 CM and PCS coding
