Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our core product team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable server-side applications and microservices. You will bridge the gap between application logic and infrastructure, leveraging TypeScript, AWS, and Jenkins to ensure our systems are resilient, high-performing, and deployed through robust CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design and implement high-performance, type-safe backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and manage cloud-native resources on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
• CI/CD Leadership: Own and optimize deployment pipelines in Jenkins, ensuring automated testing, security scanning, and seamless production deployments.
• API Design: Build and maintain scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs, focusing on security, versioning, and developer experience.
• Database Management: Optimize data models and queries for both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB/DynamoDB) databases.
• Code Quality: Conduct rigorous peer code reviews and maintain high test coverage (Unit, Integration, and E2E) using frameworks like Jest or Vitest.

Technical Requirements

• Languages: Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Backend: 7+ years of experience with Node.js and frameworks such as NestJS, Express, or Fastify.
• AWS Ecosystem: Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, SQS/SNS, IAM, and VPC networking).
• DevOps/CI: Strong experience writing and maintaining Jenkinsfiles, managing build agents, and troubleshooting pipeline failures.
• Tools: Proficiency with Docker, Git (GitHub/Bitbucket), and monitoring tools like Datadog, New Relic, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and SOLID principles.

Nice to Have

• Certification in AWS (e.g., Certified Developer or Solutions Architect).
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) or container orchestration.
• Familiarity with serverless frameworks.
• Experience with Groovy (for advanced Jenkins pipeline customization).
