About the Role (your why)

As a Senior Cloud Platform Specialist in our dedicated Datacom Cloud team, you’ll be the lead expert in IBM storage technologies for a key client account. You will collaborate closely with your team to oversee and manage storage arrays, taking an active role in administering and transitioning infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on IBM enterprise-grade IBM storage solutions.

Our offices are based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga and Hamilton. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. What you’ll do
At the moment, as Senior Cloud Platform Specialist, you will be focused on:

• Leading IBM storage operations and strategy within the client's environment.
• Administering IBM enterprise storage arrays including the IBM 7000 series Flash storage arrays, IBM 9000 Flash storage arrays, and IBM 8000 series mainframes.
• Managing IBM Spectrum Control, performing proactive monitoring and optimisation.
• Delivering end-to-end managed storage services and contributing to hybrid cloud solutions.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring others in IBM storage practices, and driving process improvements.
• Liaising closely with the client to align storage capabilities with changing business requirements.
• Troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning for IBM storage environments.

What you’ll bring

Required Experience:

• 5–10 years working as a Storage Engineer or in a senior platform role with a strong IBM storage focus.
• Proven capabilities managing IBM enterprise-grade storage arrays including IBM 7000 series Flash storage arrays, IBM 9000 Flash storage arrays, and IBM 8000 series mainframes.
• Experience with IBM Spectrum Control.
• Demonstrated expertise working with SAN infrastructure

• Strong background in enterprise storage operations within managed services or hybrid cloud environments.
• Ability to lead and document operational procedures, as well as contribute to solution design.

Nice to have:

• Experience with alternate storage vendors including NetApp, Dell, Lenovo and Pure.
• VMware or Hyper-V administration experience.
